这个数字的始作俑者，来自于一个美国洛克菲勒基金会资助的人口学家科尔1984年发表
的论文，Rapid Population Change in China, 1952-1982。
这篇论文根据1982年中国统计局发布的一个人口调查数据来推算出来中国饿死3000万。
怎么推理呢？就是假定一个“正常”的死亡率，做一个线性回归。然后用统计局的提供
的59-61年的死亡率进行对比，而且还要把统计局给出的死亡率再调高一些，理由是会
有漏报的。再拿这个死亡率去跟“线性回归出来的正常死亡率”比较，来计算出应该没
有死而死了的人，都算成是“非正常死亡”，而又进一步将这些非正常死亡的人，都推
理成“饿死”的。
按照科尔的这么一推算呢，结果就是，基于1982年国家统计局数据算出来的多死的人是
1600万。而根据科尔调整后的更高的死亡率，就是多死了2700万。原文如下：

policemen walk away after applying excessive force, nobody will be punished
for giving and executing order in 6/4 either. Neither walk way can be
justified, but it is a fact we all have to acknowledge that the walkaway is
happening across the world. I see it ironic people here whine so much
against 6/4, but keep silent against the same in the US. Whenever double
