江青最后以自杀告终，有点出人意料。
关于江青自杀的消息，是由新华社发布的，全文如下：
新华社(1991年)6月4日电
本社记者获悉，林彪、江青反革命集团案主犯江青，在保外就医期间于1991年5月
14日凌晨，在北京她的居住地自杀身亡。江青在1981年1月被最高人民法院特别法庭判
处死刑，缓期二年执行，剥夺政治权利终身；1983年1月改判无期徒刑，1984年5月4日
保外就医。
6月5日《人民日报》在第四版的一个角落刊载了这一消息。
江青终年七十七岁。
最早报道江青自杀身亡的是1991年6月1日出版的美国《时代》周刊，说来自北京的
消息，“江青上吊自杀”。《时代》没有透露消息的来源。消息还说，江青自杀是因为

都是编的。
结果八马亮出自传出版的一个fine print，说书里人物可能是composite figure，八马
可以把经历过的事情汇集到一个人身上写，所以O8仍然伟大光荣正确。
傅萍应该再版时加上这么一条小字，书里自己的经历可以是身边人的或是中国人可能受
