美国非移民签证的新申请表格 DS-160 在沈阳领馆试行之后，从下月（2010年3月）开
始，将在全国正式实行。
新的 DS-160 表格取代了以前的 DS-156、DS-157 和 DS-158 等表格，只能在网上填
写。
DS-160 适用于除 K-1/2 (fiancee) 以及 E-1/2 (Treaty Trader) 的所有非移民签证
的申请。
在3月1日之前，申请人可以提交 DS-160 表格，也可以仍使用老的 DS-156 表格。找
不到 DS-157 和 DS-158 表格的，可以去参考本人的博文。
除了在线填表，非移民签证的申请还包括预约签证（购买电话卡）、交纳申请费和签证

2. Many people are confusing PIMS and Visa Mantis.
They are two different things.
PIMS: To prevent work visa fraud. In the past some
people were presenting forged or revoked I-797 papers
to apply for work visas, and DOS had a very difficult
time catching these cases.
(PIMS does not apply to F and J. The closest equivalent
for F and J is SEVIS.)
Visa Mantis: To prevent technology lost, industrial
espionage, enforce export control. Visa applicants are

话被拒。说是什么national security...理由。今天拿到护照还有拒签理由，就是
section 212（a）（3）（A）i， 上网查了一下：

不能来美国这个敏感专业。希望有类似经历的ggjj给个建议，还值得去签第二次吗？因
为第二次去签也不能换专业。顶多导师发个支持信。

.开始联系到了周遭的中国同事.
在美工作的华人,特别是硅工,将来势必糟到公司地"特别对待".可叹,一个个老实八脚的WSN

Interview当天我们到的比较早，开始警卫不让进去，我说我们需要用厕所，因为开了2
个小时来的。他们就让我们进去了。然后妈妈在厕所里面换衣服，化妆。出来后我们就
在门口的椅子上等，他们也没有赶我们出去。后来快到预约的时间，警卫就让我们进去
了。
在里面又等了很久，一个女的移民官来叫我们进去，让我们把东西放在椅子上，然后举
起右手发誓。要了我们三个人的ID，然后就开始翻材料问问题。
问了妈妈的名字，生日，现在的地址，就是女儿家的地址啦。然后就问当时签证来的时
候有没有打算留在这边，妈妈声音很小，因为没有准备这个问题，她大概也不知道怎么
回答好。翻译听成“是打算留在这边”。把我急坏了，可是也不能插嘴。我就给他使了
个眼色，然后对移民官说，I don't think she get it, could you ask her again?
移民官又问了一遍，他们终于把这个问题给答对了。
我心想这下不太妙，后面也不敢插嘴了，就只好看她办公室里面的东西。她好像也有个
女儿叫Emma，办公室里面挂的都是Emma画的画儿。然后移民官开始问我问题，问我现在

移民局又开闸了，于是大伙儿全来趟这浑水。不管是 140 还没填的，抑或是 pending
的，更不要说批了的了，尤其是七月二号没赶上车的，大家一齐冲向 485 高地。
485 填表战，又开始了！
有的同学过于紧张，简单的问题也不敢把握，向白老师 (xiaobaitu, 呢称 XBT, 又称
小白兔 JJ 或 小白兔 MM) 求助的贴子是满天飞呀！就象北京春天的柳絮。
老师和系主任咬过好几次耳朵，建议挂个咨询公司的牌子，向白老师问一个问题的收一
毛钱，＂在线等＂的算 Premium Service 多收五分。系主任胆子太小，今天老师还说
，我们动手罢！他却总说道Ｎｏ！——这是洋话，你们不懂的。否则早已发了。
所以老师抄起剪子和浆糊，助白老师和其他大侠一鼻之力。

美国国务院在七月份的 Visa Bulletin 中(dated 6/12/07)宣布所有的 EB 类 (except
Other Workers) 都 Current，即意味着从七月一日起所有的申请人都能 file I-485。
七月二日，DOS 和 USCIS 分别通告，2007年度的所有移民指标均已分完，从即日起，
不再接收 I-485。
