一、序言
神学家D. Hague谓:“救赎是基督教最高贵的表现,亦因为此点,基督教非仅是启示、
伦理的宗教,而是独一无二、与众不同的宗教”〔注1〕。新正统神学家E. Brunner亦言
:“认识十架就是认识圣经,亦等于认识耶稣基督”〔注2〕。
除创造外,救赎可算是神最伟大的工程,况且救赎更在创世前早已为人预备妥善(弗1:
4),可见神爱人之心是何等的长阔高深、溯源长远。
二、救赎的前题
救赎的前题分为两方面,一与神有关,另一与人有关:
A.与人有关━━救赎是因人的景况
1.先祖的罪━━据创2-3章所记,亚当夏娃犯罪,于是丧失永远生命,死亡中止他们与神
亲密的关系。惟他们是神爱心的创造、精心的杰作,神不愿罪剥削他与人之间的相爱,
神主动要与人和好,逐订立了“和好如初”的救赎大计。

提要
與佛教同屬於新興宗教思潮的沙門陣營的耆那教,不僅是佛教初興當時的主要競爭對手
之一,同樣也為佛教傳統建構中的宗教制度發展等帶來刺激與滋養。雖然彼此教義有差
異,但是由於雙方實際興起與發展的時代重疊,宗教術語亦甚為接近,在宗教文化共構
處甚多的情形下,學界戲稱兩者為「姊妹教」。礙於彼此宗教競爭,佛教看待耆那教的
態度與耆那教理解自身宗教傳統的心態不同,從而「佛教聖典中的耆那教」與「耆那教
聖典中的耆那教」之間的兩種形象存有差異。若是如此,初期佛教聖典所見的宗教競爭
暨隨之引發的詮釋效應等諸問題,值得注意。

民主与人权这两个完全起于西方的概念,前者可追溯到古希腊时代,后者则兴起于文艺
复兴与启蒙之时[1]。然而,自19世纪末以来,中国知 识分子对诸如自由﹑平等﹑社会
契约等一揽子西方思想观念和价值观如此着迷,以致于他们一直致力于将这些观念移植
到中国来。1949至1976年,中国大陆 的知识分子无法就民主与人权进行严肃的讨论,
而同时期的台湾和香港,自由思想则非常活跃,在那里,民主﹑自由﹑平等与人权受到
了凸出的关注。这一新的思想 在中国大陆以外的发展,我们可以分辨出两个不同的流
派。
一方面,中国自由传统的主流是以反儒学的面目出现的,在五四运动以及后来集结在台
湾《自由中国》周围的知识分子则强化了这一立场,而“发行人”胡适则独一无二地具
