把三份信里相同之处都做了表格列了出来。不但用词一样，居然citation数目都一模一
样。原因就是一个，三份信都是出自一个人。这个同事认为他道歉了就没问题，我个人
不看好。不知道这是不是属于academic dishonest，我们学校在这方面tolerence是零。
这个事件会触发其他一系列问题。因为这个同事不是通过我们学校拿的tenure，几年前
进来了。委员会上的教授会疑问以前他tenure是不是也是通过这个方法拿的？他和系头
表面上还可以，但我知道不是太好。去年我们系里有人给所有的教授写了匿名信，告了
一个系头的right arm person。我对这个系所以教授都比较了解，算下来就应该是这个
同事干的（鄙视一下，这种做法有些小人）。系头应该也知道是他但是没证据。以我对
系头的了解，他不会就让这件事简单的过了。我知道他在暗地里收集有关这个同事的证

的时候，虽然两篇论文都是基于同一个idea，但是方法实验什么的都完全不同，A又不
知道能不能发表就没有cite。
然后论文A被接收发表了，结果论文B有一个reviewer就complain说两篇论文过于相似但
没有proper citation。我们回复详细解释了A和B的区别，又说B提交的时候A还没有发
表，我们会在最终版本里面引用论文A的。没想到那个reviewer说，他从上面得到的消
息说两篇论文有common authors，说我们的回复dishonest，直接给拒了。
我们也没说不知道A的存在啊，怎么就不诚实了，可是也不能说我们就是A的作者啊那不
是暴露了身份嘛。以后看来还不能这样前脚后脚发论文了。哎真心郁闷。 |

通告的情况下就偷偷申请其他学校，是dishonest.
可是，偶老板却是在没有跟偶说的情况下，主动给
B学校的系打电话，并最终让他们reject偶的申请。
这一切都是发生在偶一无所知的情况下。试问，这
算不算ethical behavior?!
而且，偶为什么当时没有告诉老板？因为在偶研究

, millions of results from intellectually laziness and imcompetence and
borderline dishonest studies do nothing but garbage in garbage out.
I am still waiting one study that compares asset weighted performance of
index funds and active-managed funds when high ER funds (say, 100 basis
point higher than index fund) and closet index funds are discarded. I am not
holding my breath. |

universe and equal weight, which are intellectually lazy and dishonest. Any
investor who do his or her DD won't invest that way. Or you try to tell me
ER and AUM has no signifivant negetive impact on TR? Or anyone should be

mirron index yet charge higher fees?

没想到今天他们的HR直接打电话告诉我录取了,offer letter都发到我邮箱了(不是
conditional offer,就是正式的offer).于是我就迷茫了...不知道我是应该直接就这样
去上班,然后到4月份再提sponsor H1B的事呢(其实现在离4月1号也就2个多月的时间了,
我的OPT也是6月份就到期了)? 但是这样的话如果到时候他们忽然发现在没有
sponsorship的情况下我最多只能给他们干4个多月（前2个月还是培训),这样会不会很
伤RP啊? Employer一气之下觉得你dishonest对以后找工作是不是也有影响啊? 或者还
是先挑明了,大家说清楚了比较好? |

真是倒霉，前段时间去纽约为了省钱在airbnb上找了一家review看着很高的host。去了
之后发现房间的设置和照片没有差异，但是就是整个照片的色调调得让人觉得很美好那
种，去了后就是各种落差。最夸张的是第一个晚上被邻居的音乐吵得没法入睡，当时给
host打了电话，说尽量解决但是没有帮助，我只能被迫睡客厅。于是我就把这些遭遇在
review里说了。
结果一天一连收到几个msg，host发过来的。各种威胁要我把review撤下，说
