，也不是简单的在 希尔伯特旅馆 和 cantor diagonal argument 之间。
实际上从某个角度看，这个比 cantor diagonal argument 还要大，因为 leaf node
的集合，跟 cantor diagonal argument 的实数行可以一一对应，因为都是
permutation with repetition。。。但 cantor diagonal argument 这下是孙悟空逃
不出如来佛的手掌心。
但另一方面看，如果我做 breadth first traversal，这玩意儿就好像跟希尔伯特旅馆
一样大不是？
其实这个悖论是设计的，在 cantor diagonal argument 时，flip 二叉树的某个节点
，实际上是从树叶那边看过来的，于是每个节点很大很大。。。这使得 cantor
diagonal flip bit 造成个很大很大的跳跃，使得 cantor diagonal argument 跳不出

。。。cantor 的证明是对的，但有潜在的 assumption。。。这个无限二叉排列树的目
的就是把这个 assumption 放在阳光下。
Cantor 的潜在 assumption 的基本思想是，cantor 觉得他需要走到无限的那一点的时
候，他就可以很 convenient 地走到。。。但他觉得走不到的时候，就很 magical 地
走不到。。。也就是说，他的证明不仅仅是基于 permutation 的，他的证明实际上是
基于如何在这个 permutation tree 上 traversal，以及 traversal 的时候是如何
handle 无穷远节点的，而这种 handle 完全是屁股决定脑袋的。
或者说，数学有自然科学和艺术两重性。而按以上的分析，cantor diagonal argument
更多的是一种艺术。。。因为真正实际科学存在的是 permutation tree 本身。。。

faculty来说可以算是很牛B了，但是对于老方这种senior的已经搞了一辈子的人来说，
就只能算so so。不要说是院士，离aps fellow的级别也还差了不少。引用率最高的一
篇文章还是95年到了arizona之后跟老外合作的，被引118次，这也是方唯一一篇被引用
上百次的文章。可见方励之89之前确实没有做出过什么重要的工作，他的名声和地位绝
对是靠政治得来的，当然其中部分的也是80年在中国搞科普所得，必须承认科普工作也是
有重要的社会意义的。
(BTW，有人说你这个搜索未必完整。不错，确实不能保证100％毫无遗漏。但是我

diagonal kick 产生横滚方向的扭矩分量，完成横滚动作以及
控制横滚的轴向平衡。划水对横滚只是起辅助作用。
理论上所有的 kick 都可以有 diagonal kick 的分量，或多
或少的差别。kick 的 diagonal 分量控制横滚的轴向平衡。
这个也是TI教程，以及不少新版教程，反对业余的练习抱板
打水，提倡不用 kick board 的 back kick 以及 side kick。

cantor diagonal argument 里面的无限序列上的 permutation 本身，马工还是有对付
的办法的。。。比如如果拿 0 和 1 的序列做例子，从第一位上有两个 choice，选好
第一位以后，第二位再有两个 choice，这样马工可以画出一个无限深度的 binary (
decision) tree。。。在这个无限深度的 binary tree 上面，虽然马工不可能做
depth first traversal，但是做 breadth first traversal 还是可以的，所以该无限
深度的 binary tree 本身（只要不去 collect leaf node 先），还是可以 linear
ordered 毫无压力的。
但 cantor 的问题，是要把所有的 leaf node 给收集到一个集合里，再做个 diagonal
argument。。。对于这天顶星的一小步，地球马工蹦蹦机彻底没辙了。。。于是香浓
也只能骂娘。。。

elements sum to zero. Symmetrical means Aij = Aji. 5 comes from 2 degrees of
freedom on the diagonal and 3 from off-diagonal. Talking about 3x3 matrix
here.
If A is such, so is U.A.U(-1). Thus Q is defined on a subspace with only 5
base vectors.
My feeling is that Q is still unitary here, but I should verify somehow.
Just wondering if there is any obvious way based on certain fundermental
properties of matrix operation.
