depression 是病。
病的意思是,不吃药不看医生好不了。(感冒不是病,是病毒)
depression 还是个特殊的病,不仅需要吃药,吃药过程中还一定要配合 therapy。lz
从这个方面去想想办法吧。
depression 拖久了会越来越严重。可能要一辈子吃药+therapy,中国的 therapy 没
那么好,还是赶紧在美国治好吧。治得早,治得好的,也有可能一两年就可以断药,见
过这样的例子。
父(母)有depression,对孩子的负面影响太大了。你别不当回事。
现在劝他去看 psychiatrist 可能有难度,但是你必须帮他,别跟病人治气。你先去看
psychiatrist/therapist, 看他们能有什么建议和帮助。
还有,你一受刺激(i.e. 提到pp)就大喊大叫,说明你需要 anger management
therapy。你发了脾气,你爽了,负面能量跑到你老公身上去了,他能不抑郁么。
呵呵,貌似各打50大板,其实我这都是肺腑之言。

Episode的诊断标准。抑郁症的诊断建立在major depressive episode之上,可以
google major depressive disorder来查具体的诊断标准。

I think anti-depressants should always be combined with cognitive therapy in
terms of treatment.
Depression isn't something that just goes away by itself, and most people
are untreated or undertreated for depression.
By the way, a lot of people are on anti-depressants and hypnotics, and these
meds help them function and make them feel better.
I can understand you might have had a poor experience with these meds, but
it doesn't mean other people will respond in the same way.

all in all, i don't think relying on medicine for insomnia is the way to go,
personally i'm very leery of ambien, put a patient on ambien once and he
came back with 4 points restrain,
if depression is the cause for insomnia then treat depression, again
personally i tend to sleep more and eat more when depressed, all drugs have
side effects, some do work pretty well though, but then again so is ECT
which works wonders for depression, not many people dare to try it, neither
physicians/psychiatris

我觉得体内chemistry的影响是决定性的。再强的depression,来上一针”幸福针“,
也depress不下去了。
所以depression就是一种病,是病就得治,否则就有后果。depression导致自杀,和其
它病导致死亡,是有可比性的。只不过目前可能不像其他疾病那样容易定量诊断(体内
荷尔蒙水平?),用什么药,多大剂量,就看医生的水平了。

今天去看了The pianist and the hours, 看的也够晚的了.
去之前对the pianist有更大的期望,不过看过后才发现偶更喜欢The hours.
The hours 就象她那里的女主人公一样也会使你陷入无穷的depression.
不过她的确很好的揭示了很多深刻的问题,虽然里面涉及了一些lesiban, gay的东西,但那
不是重点, 偶最有同感的就她表达出来的那种对人的内心深处的loneliness and
depression的揭示. 有的时候你有你的爱人和幸福的家庭,你们互相深深的爱着对方,什么
都好似没有出错,但就是在这种很triaval的dairly
life中你会莫名的感到无法补救的lonely,而且有的时候更本找不到自己的happiness,那
种茫然和depression是无法被慰藉的,有的时候甚至有suicide的倾向,即使是你的爱人也
没有办法驱散那种individual 内心极其深刻的loneliness and depression,这个事实被
揭示的好无奈呀.
这也是一部feminist的电影, 偶对feminist了解太少,没什么感

我说的是LIGHT DEPRESS,很多人都有,或者曾经有过。比如一两年的消沉那种。
我不是贬义的意思。DEPRESS之后,很多人都有更好的发展。

楼主MM你肯定没见过真正DEPRESS的人,呵呵~~:)那是一钟病,要吃药而且很难治好
的。我绝对不相信钟有DEPRESSION,否则后来根本演不了戏了。

(BTW,俺英文还OK, HIAHIA,俩词的细微差别,把握还是很精准的)。

light depressed feeling不算什么,这BBS上大凡是个人,90%都有过,呵呵。我上周
做东西,也是愁的要命呢。
但是DEPRESSION绝对不是啊,这词很要命,真得了的根本没希望了。钟不可能的,人家
很积极的,否则怎么能演这么好呀。:)
人家多么阳光的帅锅啊,其实一点都不安静。不知道大家怎么看出他安静的,难道是因

这一个礼拜以来我妈妈的情况已经基本稳定下来了。昨天跟她打电话的时候她主动跟我讲
起了前一段时间她只想怎样才能自杀。总算松了一口气。我妈五年前得过depression.一
开始不知道是depression,他以为是体质差引起的,睡不着,吃不下,躺都觉得没劲,对
什么度没有兴趣。后来听别人介绍到一家医院住了一个月,对症治疗,慢慢恢复了。一直
很好。谁知过了五年又发了。我妈是哪种啥都不会说出来,一切都往心里藏的人。加上我
爸不是很提铁人,脾气不好。可能这些都是原因吧。
再来说说我,以前没有把自己跟depression
联系起来。我这个人跟我妈很象,比较sensitive,想得比较多。最近这几年好像智力退了
很多,记忆力也不行,动不动就心里别一下,就想哭过不停。动不动就不高兴,发脾气,
尤其好像对啥都不感兴趣。一直以为是因为这几年发生了好多事,压力太大的原因。但最
近慢慢的把我跟我妈联系起来,觉得也许我也是depression。还没有看过医生。现在在想
,我还是应该去看看医生。虽说我的情况不是很严重,但也许看看医生会提高我的生活质
量吧。现在三天两头就指控家里的那位,想想也许不是他的问题,也许

You need figure out what caused your depression.
I had a feeling that many so called cases of depression are actually because
of other deeper problems, such as anxiety or phobia, or even physical
illness.
If that's the case, one should take care of the real problem first before
treating depression.
How to figure it out? You need work with your doctor, systematically scan
your mind, figure out the reason(s) of your depression.
You also need know yourself better.

应该去看医生,典型的depression。我有同样的体会,我是严重的major depression,
虽然还没想过要死,但是什么都不想做,什么都怕,还在上学,怕上课,怕跟老师说话
,怕给家人朋友打电话,怕上msn,怕看email。。。。所谓怕,就是逃避,逃避自己做
不了的事情,有时候觉得生活就是忽然之间变得很困难了,有点莫名其妙,曾经很容易
的事情,在别人看起来做起来很容易的事情,比如混在200人的教室里听一堂50分钟的
课,哪怕中间睡着15分钟,现在对我来说就是mission impossible。
理智的分析,根本上来说是因为自己对自己比较失望,但是对于depress的人来说,其
实最应该做的就是降低对自己的期望值。现在的你并不是最完美的你,但是并不代表你

会的责任不可推脱,但是也有程度的区别,也许你原来总是做到90%,那么现在不如试
试只去做

是不一样的。

最后唐两句吧。我曾经怪过我的老板对学生不负责任(事实也是如此,因此我们组的人
出来都是自己一路连滚带爬出来的,比别的组毕业的周期 都长很多),可是现在想想
,也是自己一直对自己的研究没有太多的热情。如果自己当年能对自己的专业有哪怕有
对其他腐败活动的一半儿的热情,我估计自己走的 会比现在好。我曾经非常抑郁过,
在通常是一周工作6天,没有寒暑假和国家假期的工作时间表下,居然曾经一周多不去
实验室,不跟老板打招呼,一个人就那么在家呆着,什么也不做。我觉得那是自己这些
年最黑暗的一段日子,完全看不到课题的希望,不知道这样的日子什么时候是个尽头。
。。好在最后我有天突然觉得日子不可以这样。I must stand up. 也是因为提前过了
这个坎吧,所以在最后得知自己其实只有3个月的时间里只郁闷了5分钟,没有把宝贵的

感觉楼主应该是depression了,或者说clinical depression了。去看psychiatrist吧
,开些药吃。至于体重方面,你不一定需要担心会增加。我生病前体重一百七十多磅,
生病以后(我是bipolar disorder,也叫作manic depressive disorder),吃好几种药
,有anti-depressant,anti-anxiety,mood stabilizer,还有stimulant。从一年前
发病,到现在一直在服药。我去年底开始计划减肥(我的体重从去年初发病到去年底一
直没有什么变化),通过减少饮食,还有增加锻炼,三四个月下来,我现在的体重低于
160磅。而且我觉得只要我保持调整饮食、还有坚持锻炼,我新的体重应该是可以维持
的。推荐treadmill,至少我感觉treadmill对我最管用。

苦,才能认真学习和实践灭苦之道。也就是说,人生其实给我们提供了觉悟的机会和基

I don't think you have depression, according to the prevailing DSM diagnosis
. For major depression, a sub-type of depression, you have to have each
episode for at least 2 weeks. The following link can give you more

However, I would say the diagnosis for mental disorders (e.g., depression,
anxiety) is rather more arbitary and subjective than that for the diagnosis

这个我也不知道的..当时我就是很郁闷就跟BBS挖了个小坑.那时候这个版还关着.没处
说理.第而天就上了十大.很多人跳.很多人.得过depression的人给我发信建议我看心理
医生我才觉得.我一个非常好的朋友也觉得很不对了.他以前也有这个经历.比我严重.就
是突然发现自己是gay一下子不能接受自我.他也人为我depressed有点严重.我觉得这跟
环境有关系.生活压力过大之类的.
但是我这个人.那个.比较自恋.hehe.在我最depressed的时候也是觉得I can make it.
当然拉.一般晚上容易doubt. 越doubt越觉得活不下去.白天好些.慢慢就熬过去了.后来
半年多反复了一次.
我觉得知道好.是个正确的认识.心理问题导致生理上有问题自己知道是问题。能够比较
积极的面对。其实很多人或多或少都有depressed的时候。程度不同而已。
另外就是。jw点没啥。找朋友乡邻嫂没关系。呵呵。
