In attempting to escape the clear implications of this lamentable doctrine,
it is argued that although totally depraved man can do nothing but reject th
e gospel, God is just in holding him accountable and damning him. Paul expla
ins how God can justly forgive sinners (Romans 3:21-30) but nowhere does Scr
ipture explain how God could justly condemn for sinning those whom He predes
tined to sin and to eternal destruction.

Not A Question Of Obligation
Such rationalization simply won't work. Of course Calvinism's God prevents t
he non-elect from coming to Him. He very clearly does so by withholding the
grace without which they can't believe.
Furthermore, He has predestined them to eternal damnation. Could there be an

Why Does God Strive?
In the very context of the first expose of man's wicked heart, which the Cal
vinist offers as proof of Total Depravity, we hear God saying, "My spirit sh
all not always strive with man" (Genesis 6:3). How can there be a real "stri

suaded? The Calvinist insists that being spiritually dead in sin means that
man can no more hear the gospel or respond to God than a physically dead man

(1)罪是选择作恶;
(2)罪是缺乏良善;
(3)罪是骄傲自大,自我中心;
(4)罪是失去了原始之义与圣洁;
(5)罪是骄傲、怠惰、虚谎;

Simple Confusion Over Inability
Calvinists are to be commended for their zeal to protect God's sovereignty a

Confronting A Vital Distinction
For the Calvinist to uphold his extreme view of control, God must be the cau

no way to escape this conclusion. If God were not the cause of man's sin, ma

18. There is no fear of God before their eyes.
"In the last clause [103] he repeats again, in other words, what we have
noticed at the beginning — that every wickedness flows from a disregard of
God: for as the principal part of wisdom is the fear of God, when we depart
from that, there remains in us nothing right or pure. In short, as it is a
bridle to restrain our wickedness, so when it is wanting, we feel at liberty
to indulge every kind of licentiousness.

among the learned, what the works of the law mean. Some extend them to the
observance of the whole law, while others confine them to the ceremonies

1,罪人全面的堕落(the total depravity of the sinners)----我们没有能力去主动
2,上帝无条件的拣选(the unconditional election of the Father)----这个拣选的

America is in full-blown crisis. The continuous dysfunction in our

5. And the light shineth in darkness.
It might be objected, that the passages of Scripture in which men are called
blind are so numerous and that the blindness for which they are condemned
is but too well known. For in all their reasoning faculties they miserably
fail. How comes it that there are so many labyrinths of errors in the world,
but because men, by their own guidance, are led only to vanity an...
