timing gun的原理的确如此。接在Cyl 1的spark plug口上，
每次该spark plug打火，就会触发一道光线。
注意，timing gun应该对的是flywheel的观察口。
就是通常放TDC的时候需要看那个。flywheel上面的标志在
第一缸TDC的时候，应该和观察口旁边一个标记齐平。
（通常观察口，都会有一个rubber塞子保护，观察的时候，
拔掉这个塞子，就能看到flywheel的齿了）
第一缸的TDC正是第一缸spark plug应该fire的时候。
所以用timing gun照射这个观察口，如果timing正确的话，
timing gun的光线应该在flywheel和观察口的标记齐平的时候
正好照过去。因为转速比较高，如果没有timing gun这样采样的话，
根本没有在engine运行的时候观察flywheel和观察口的标记是否
align的可能。
根据观察的结果，按照一定的角度调整distributor cap的位置，
从而改变spark plug fire的时机（提前或者推迟），
这就是调整timing的原理。

Ignition coil好象是个变压器，分初级线圈(12V battery voltage)和次级线圈。
我猜dwell/tacho测的都是初级线圈。
所谓Dwell，是指：
励磁时间间隔（闭合角） energizing interval（dwell angle）
对点火系统初级进行充电所经历的时间问隔，用曲轴或分电器轴的旋转角度表示。
During this time period, the breaker points remain closed.
e.g.
DWELL=12.4DG OF CYL 1， 指一缸点火闭合角（充电闭合时间）＝12.4度
这是老时代carburator的车用来调点火初级线圈点火前充电需要的时间的，
太小了可能电冲得不够打不起火。
对现在electronic ignition的车，Dwell不可调，基本没什么意义。 |

我几天前看到版上有人以$18,000 out of door price (which include tax)拿到同样的车。同时在carbuyingtips.com上看到有人3月 invoice
$16,900，4月 invoice $16,700. 这样算算 $18,000 out of door price include tax也差不多。

终于攀上一门远房亲戚，好人呀，从Long beach过来带我去看车。听说我2个月没去

1st owner 。car fax已经查过，没问题。
我不懂车，看起来保养不错。车主比较在行，轻松拔出oil sticker给我看，颜色红
褐。
没有异味，干净整齐。典型的美国人家庭，车是女儿上学开的，因为买了另外一辆

所以要卖。他们广告1月前就出来了，也不着急卖。
开价6000$,最低4800。
高速上开，似乎减震不是特别好。好像Focus通病。
consumer review 说这一款的设计缺点就是：brake, 减震。
可恨周日所有的mechanic都不开门。最后约定：明天卖家把车开到我们学校，mech
anic check,
没有问题的话，付钱成交。

几个月前去dealer那儿做maintenance，同时做两个recall，gas和brake pedal都换了，还加了个说不出名字的小零件，虽然感觉不出有什么不同，但心里毕竟踏实多了

I'm interested in 2010 Ford fusion w/ the 4-cyl engine option. Just did some
home work. Found some people have "sloshing" sound problem when
accelerating the vehicle. Want to ask fusion owners on this board if this is
a wide spread problem? And, what's your opionion on your fusion.

由于我临时决定回国，想尽快处理掉这个车子，不行我就只能提前终止合同，把车还给
Toyota。
如果有人正好需要用车，时间也比较凑巧，可以考虑sublease或买下来，都是比较划算
