开始把骑车当作一项运动是去年毕业前找到工作之后,经济状况好点了,能买得起最初
级的road bike了。第一次听说STP是从朋友那儿,当时还觉得非常不可思议,两天204
迈,听起来比马拉松更遥不可及。决定要参加是今年的事,最初只是想作为一个
fitness goal,希望能借此让自己多骑骑车。骑车对跑步是一种很好的cross training
。我没有预料到的是,我不但骑下来了,而且骑得很轻松,整个过程充满了激动人心的
时刻,热血沸腾的时刻。让我对cycling这项运动有了一个很不一样的认识。虽然对我
来说骑车仍然不如跑步那么有吸引力,但是通过这次的活动,我至少算是经历了一个
rite of passage,成为了一个cyclist,cycling已经不仅仅是running的cross
training了。

开车上下班。好像每天都能找到要开车的理由,要去医院,要去买东西,要去滑雪,要
送老大去幼儿园,这些当然都还是正当理由,但是,还有,要背电脑。公司配的笔记本
实在是太重了,骑车背起来会很难受的。理由是背回家可以晚上干干活,其实正说明上
班的时候效率不怎么高。
前两天Seattle又下了一场大雪,堵在回家的路上,看着路边的cyclist顶着漫天大雪骑
车的时候就觉得很遗憾,我也应该是他们中的一员啊,在雪中骑车一定很好玩。
终于下定决心把电脑扔在公司了,昨天早晨把骑车的衣服,裤子,手套,面罩,大大小
小的配件一件件找出来穿上,慢慢又找回了以前的感觉。在trail上还是能够碰到那几
个熟悉的骑车的、跑步的、遛狗的身影,在大致相同的时间,大致相同的地方,彼此扬
扬手说声Hi,morning,很好的开始一天的方式。
把车推进久违的公司bike room,同以前一样,看见barbara和stanley的山地车还在同
样的地方,hehe,I am back.
看了一下去年的commute log, 从5月份开始骑车,到年底骑 |

传说中的热塑形。今天正好拿来试验一下。
先找了个大锅。加水,煮沸。
把鞋包好,放如水中加热5分钟。
取出,放入垃圾袋,塞如吸尘器的管子。

。tire, rim, hub, brake差点.骑起来比较舒服,一口气骑了1小时15分钟,没觉得哪里不舒服,并没试过太多别的车,只骑过specialized 和 trek.
和各位工作的cyclist比不了,这台车才800块。希望服役到明年毕业工作,准备参加明
年Seattle to Portland.
jersey, beenie, helmet, warmer, bib shorts, gloves, co2 kit, tools, lights,bike computer, saddle wedge,water bottle+cage, pedal, shoes 全部加上去又是500多块了. sigh, 才发现这个hobby不便宜。 |

w*****h 发帖数: 1770 | 15 周六老样子, 是去上spinning class, 也算假装骑车. (大家拍) 可是早上醒过来一看
, 9点半的class肯定赶不上了, 只好去另一个facility的10点半的, 肯定特挤, 还要提
前去占位置. 冲到gym, 又发现cycling shoes没带, 不爽. 还好跑鞋总是在包里的,
将就吧.
Instructor换了一个临时的, 放音乐很吵. it还老是吹"我在室外也骑车的", 是不是看
不起底下"going to nowhere"的"cyclists"? anyway... 骑的正爽, 右脚从cage里滑
出, 当时踏频还挺快, 一面有clipless的padel重重打在小腿骨上. 有两分钟感觉象是
腿废了一样, 提都提不起来. 血印大概有20公分长, 出血口有大概7,8厘米. 痛苦. 后
来慢慢恢复过来, 确定骨头没裂, 就继续spin.
下课, 出一身汗的感觉还是不错. 问gym staff要了几个酒精擦纸, took shower, 处理
伤口. 有机会近距离仔细观察了自己小腿, 发现真是细啊, 有点皮包骨头的感觉. 郁
闷. 回家吃饭.

- take a multi-vitamin (like centrum performance) everyday
- go out and do 10-mile all-out time trials a few times a week
- drink a redbull before the workout so you can get your HR up a notch
three week should be plenty to get your heart and legs open up. |

is the how it should be -- narrow country roads, rolling hills, green fields
, churches in the distance, hopping from one small town to another,
navigating the rotaries...
I rode the north suburb of Paris today, about 40 miles. The weather was
perfect. Navigation was tough. I was using the GPS on my iphone a lot.
Each little town is different, and there are frequent traffic stops. The

In my opinion, the most important things are the riding skills and safety.
Besides the bike, you have to buy the pedal, bike shoe, helmet, a pair of
glasses, glove...Don't forget to control your nutrition and don't get
dehydration which is the most common mistake that cyclists make. Good Luck! |

Wolf I still think this ride fits your style (and mine) pretty well. I will

be quality time spent. Just as Cookiejar said, you guys can do this easily with some preparation.
Baldy is a perfect training route for it; so do I think of my back yard
mountain with 2500feet/8miles, which is very safe with its extended shoulder
and always sees cyclists at all levels. Adding daily laps before the event will do the t |

是赶紧跟上。骑出去快1mile,才发现这是另外一个group,心想也差不多,就这么跟着
吧。
出了town才知道厉害:这帮人搞了一个20mph+的paceline,而且当中不带休息一骑到底
。好在我带的水够用,就跟在paceline的最后吐着舌头狂奔,唯一不好意思的是没法参
加轮流的pull - 前面一没有人,我的车速就慢下来了。这次全程我感觉almost did
everything right - 保持固定的pace,低姿减小凤阻,抓紧任何的机会喝水...唯一明
显的错误是最后5miles的一连串上坡时,加速过早导致体力透支。
回到终点看了一下表,比上次有进步:Dst 35miles Avg 20.5mph 感觉要更快些就不那
么容易了。 |

包括我在内的3个人一天骑到,几点感想:
1/ 一天骑STP还是很自虐,跟两天不是一个数量级;
2/ 骑车这东西不练不行,今年基本没怎么骑,所以这次骑得很颓,巨慢无比。后半段
基本只有别人超我,没有我超别人的时候;
3/ 下次不穿这个北京奥运T shirt了,免得给中国人丢脸,呵呵。
4/ 还需要积攒人品,避免意外情况发生。

Indeed, if I only wanted to burn some calories I wouldn't care. What I'm
wondering is whether I need to think
about investing on a more expensive bike in order to do an ironman. I
probably won't do it if it only shaves off
10 minutes in a 112-mile bike ride. But a 30 minutes difference would be big
enough for me to consider
some investment.
I'm a physicist so I fully understand the mechanics. But I don't fully
understand how my body works in cycling
which is why I ask experienced cyclists.:) Al |

bike. then I went on the bike trail for a 24 mile ride. soon I realized that
the "bike trail" is mostly for the recreation of families and runners, not
real cyclists. I was able to cruise comfortably at 18mph, was able to
sustain 20mph and went up to 23mph (obviously couldn't last for too long).
But I had to make stops at crosswalks frequently, stopping my garmin 305. In
the end I averaged 17.76mph.

biking equipments. But then I found out that Aspen is the most awesome place
for cyclists, and I just couldn't resist the temptation to hit the road. I
get to ride on this one diamond back mountain bike essentially for free. But
the bike is not exactly in good condition. It looks pretty old. It feels
light and rides smoothly. But the front tire went flat a few days ago.

我原本谨记老狼教授的教诲不上人行道的,可是我们这个城市,在今年初夏,有位
cyclist在早晨上班途中被从后方来的truck撞到天堂去了,吓得我每天都胆战心惊。出
于谨慎,我宁愿绕道专挑bikemap上的路线,可是有一小段实在衔接不上,上下班时间
车流还蛮大,每次在公路上骑的时候,我老担心后面的车刹不住或遇上犯困的driver。
起初每当途径那段的时候,我就在人行道上推着车走,可能因为这里行人实在太少,自
己都感觉自己像个傻子似的。后来偶尔碰到几个骑车族,发现他们都很大方地在人行道
上骑,我就斗胆效法了,再后来碰到几次警察,他们对我都熟视无睹,窃以为至少在无
人的时候,溜上人行道还是被默许的。
这次好不容易改邪归正,不巧却挡着了个急性子的,我都不知道该愧疚还是该愤怒,还
好他倒霉碰到蹲点的警察。 |

非常瘦,长发飘飘的,很有气质,就像超模一样的。
老师自我介绍的时候说是cyclist,喜欢race。然后让大家自我介绍讲自己的爱好,轮到
我我就说我有时候也骑骑车,去年从SEATTLE骑到PORTLAND,风景很好之类(又拿这个
吹牛了,咳咳~~),美女老师马上说哦是STP对吧,下课要聊聊。然后课间走过来跟
我讲,你骑了多久,是ONE DAY RIDER吗?我去年也骑了耶~~我说没有没有,我是2-
DAY的,然后老师就说我去年是第三次骑了,10个小时骑完,早上5点半就出发了。顿时
觉得世界好小,去年的时候竟然和美女老师近在咫尺~~老师说STP风景很好,就是坡
度不够!FT啊FT啊~~那么多坡啊桥啊的,竟然还嫌不够,猛女一枚~~
老师说她去INTERNALTIONAL RACE,就是运车麻烦。好景仰啊~~工作这么忙,还有三
个小孩,还是骑车大牛,又是才女加美女加仙女,世界上怎么就有这么完美的人??
老师还推荐说每年7月底会有环MT RAINIER的骑车活动,叫啥RON啥的(我没记住名字)
