我每年可以投2万after-tax 401K (我同时投17K进入pre-tax 401K, 明年投17.5K), 雇
主也允许in service withdraw/rollover my after-tax 401K contribution. My
401K custodian, Fidelity, allows me to rollover the after-tax contribution
to my roth IRA account (also at Fidelity). They also acknowledge that IRA's
rule is unclear in this area.

我们刚给一个客户从市场上挑到一个最合适他年龄和其他情况的anuity， 他老兄迷惑
的地方很多， 大到5%回报和7%回报的对比， 小到一个50快钱一年的custodian fee.
我们用了2小时给他解释， 然后再和carrier开电话会议，让他们给run几个不同年份的
回报率Simulation. 当然他那个是variable Annuity, 比较复杂一点， 保底回报5%+
复利+市场365 day最好的return。

本人没投lending club，也不可能跟踪5-10年给出最终收益率
建议用IRA投，吐槽那个custodian，不是我拍脑袋想出来的，都是英文blog上的建议
看不看好lending club股票是个人偏好，至少notes跟junk bond有可比性。
普通人跟CD比觉得lengding club利息高，又有几个知道jcp,amd，sears等几个大公司
的5年左右bond yield现在都是9%以上呢？
它们缺点也跟notes一样，要交income tax，适合ira投。所以我宁可把宝贵的ira配额
放在这些大公司上。策略也跟notes一样：分散投，可能某家会倒闭，不可能家家都倒
闭。bonds流动性不如股票，但还是比notes强多了。
至于股版reits的帖子有不对的话，你也指出就是了。
目前已经查到reits确实要按income tax rate收dividend tax，我并没说错。
分红前卖出，分红后买入，其实是国内个人债券投资者避开利息税的方法，但我确实不
知道在美国合不合法，所以特意发帖请教。

ira和401k买股票的话风险自担，cash的话由FDIC保护，两者不是一样么？
你指的是破产或者各种官司时的保护？
你想投资房子，是指你想买房产有关的结构化证券产品（这个普通ira账户都能买），
还是说想真正地用pre-tax money买一个房子（在ira/401k custodian名下）？
后者的话，你账上钱要足够多，而且不能亲自参与打理的，否则有向养老金账号输送利
益之嫌（特别是roth账户)。要专门找人处理法律、报税等。基本上不是很多钱的话，
不值得弄那么麻烦。
另外401k应该取决于雇主提供什么，不能自己选择更换的吧？我记得要换只能换成ira? |

I seriously agree with wymlyy, too. Try not to be so judgemental -- there
is much difference between abuse and bad parenting. The dad described by
Louzhu can be labelled as a bad father, at the worst, but not an abusive
father.
If Louzhu really cares about the two kids, the best way is to persuade kids'
mommy to fight for her custodian rights or give some pressure to the daddy.

I understand what you meant might be for the $13000 limit to avoid gift tax.
Also, you can add Coverdell-IRA as an option. I once wrote an article about

这里的下一集是明年圣诞节那集，不是指明年五月份那集 Hans Solo的小传。下一集，
该本级结尾的扫地小男孩和本级女主角并肩战斗，产生情愫，一如Atkins Skywalker和
Pedme的故事，寓意历史循环乃宇宙真理。其实前年那集只是故事讲的粗糙，漏洞百出
，但故事本身符合近几年来星战一直要传递的要旨。这个要旨就是，现在社会中坚年龄
段纯种欧洲白男不行了，纷纷堕入魔道，甚至精神弑父，背叛了西方文明，导致社会倾
颓，欧美没落。拯救西方文明的重任落在白女，黑男，黄女以及混血男女的身上。当然
，小黄男也能出个把英雄，象去年Rogue One里的姜文甄子丹，但黄男的主流是白男的
帮凶或者置身事外的商人赌客。
但是，不要以为以后的世界是白女和黑男混血后代的。本集结尾揭示了这点，那个扫地
小男孩可是个白人小孩。所以卢卡斯这个老一代白男虽然认为现在正当年的白男都废掉

一种金属，不pay interest，不pay dividend，还需要custodian fee。
