本人在读生物PhD，在同时修统计的硕士，学校统计系非常好，多年来有个concurrent
master学位，上6门跟统计phd一起上的graded专业课，做个thesis，考一个跟phd一起
考但是给分对master学生比较宽松的qual exam，可以拿到硕士学位。本人统计课修的
很有兴趣，生物这边的老板人又开明又nice，也挺支持的。
可是统计系发现phd的课修的人越来越多，2／3的人都不是本系的，决定新开一个硕士
项目（之前没有单独的硕士，只有给外系phd像楼主这种的concurrent master），硕士
单独开课，14fall第一批新生，总共10门graded课，起先是要把现存的concurrent
master合并进去，然后现在说可能干脆把这个program给取消了，以上这些事都发生在
近4－5个月吧。
然后楼主就慌了。。。因为之前问统计系负责concurrent master的老师，包括已经有
风声master要大改之后也问过，他们都说流程是：修课，过qual，开始做thesis，提交

（在工作中，但短期不给申H1b）还需要申请OPT以及之后的OPT的extension，怕递了
485AOS后会影响OPT及extension。但律师仍然认为该concurrent，其回复如下：

我的情况是：现在在一个高校非盈利机构工作，使用的是不占用名额的non-profit h1b
. 现在准备找一个盈利公司的工作, 由于担心抽签和gap的问题， 打算申请concurrent
h1b， 为新公司工作的同时，也继续为当前机构工作以便保持身份。
1. 这样的方案可行吗？ 被USCIS批准的可能性高吗？ 我打算将新的工作当成fulltime
，而当前的工作转成part-time。
2. 想再次确认下： 此情况下申请的concurrent h1b是否依然不受名额限制呢，即使新
的公司是cap-subject的情况下？
3. 这个concurrent h1b是由新公司还是当前的单位file，还是两者一起？
4. 递交了concurrent h1b申请之后，是否只要移民局收到申请 即可开始为新公司工作
，而不用等到被正式批准（因为已经是h1b的身份（non-profit））？

H1b都是今年9月中就到3年，需要renewal。
我的背景一般：
US PHD 2008,Biomedical science.
9 journal paper
8 published conference abstracts
79 citation
现在在小公司上班，公司背景也是刚刚足够support Eb1b。申请费用要自己出。
几种option，不知道选哪种好，请教各位的意见。
1. 140，pp，485 non-concurrent.
Pro：如果140 5月中就批了，马上递485/EAD。EAD一般90天就批？8月-9月初批EAD的话
就不需要办H1B。如果140 到5月中还没批，等到7月份再办H1B renewal。
Con：背景不强，怕被RFE。
2.140， non-pp，485 non-concurrent. 我和ld现在file H1B renewal。

一个月左右。
但是原因是多重的：
1。concurrently filing交上去以后，FP/EAD/Ap就是开始处理，不管140怎样。这样省
了至少15天时间。
2。 concurrently filing直接交到service center,不是lockbox,又省了一到两个星期
材料转交的过程。
但concurrently filing不会让你插队， 这是肯定的。 |

我的H1B今年四月就到期了（满三年了），单位在办延期/转title的新H1B，但是办的特
别慢，怕到时候不能在H1B过期之前把新申请提交上去，所以想交个485就不用面临要回
国的风险了。
我的EB2 NIW PD是16年2月底，按目前的形势，感觉过几个月就该排到了，但是4月就排
到的概率很低。我也可以最近马上Concurrent file EB1a 140+485，因为可以Relink
16年的PD，这样做的风险就是万一EB1a 140被拒（之前EB1a 140被拒过），485也就被
拒了。
如果Concurrent file EB1a 140+485，pending状态下如果发现EB2排期到了，怕140通

我们140是请律师弄的，485是自己弄，我们问律师能不能concurrently file，律师说
我们收到140的收据后，自己file 485就可以。
请问这种485不是和140放在一个大信封里邮寄的情况，算concurrently file吗？

However, for some people who submit 140 by lawyers, they may not want
the lawyers to handle their 485 in case extra fee will occur, so they

你自己看看i129 part2上面的选项，如果你现在在a工作，想去b concurrent，那么你
的新i129就要选new concurrent employer,a的话只要做个amendment part time （你
需要重新办lca，因为改为part time）。 就好了，两边都可以工作。
但是我想你b家的129 part2选的应该是change of employer,这样的话当你b批准了，a
就失效了。如果是这种情况，a家你不能做amendment，要重做lca，并且i129要重新选

到approval当天就邮寄485
等的时间差很多吗？听说concurrent filing只要两个月绿卡就能到手了，不

对”，和140同时处理。比如说，如果140 pp， 15天approve，485也很快也会approve
，不用等几个月。这种说法可靠吗？
如果485 concurrent filing只是提早排上对而已，那140 pp的话就没必要485

case一般，靠非一作的几篇高引用文章，硬着头皮走了concurrent filing
2／7 提交＋pp，
2／8 receive notice,
2／15 I-140 approval notice，
2／15 FP notice，scheduled on 03／07
接下来开始纠结。之所以 pp + concurrent filing 其实是想早点拿到AP 3月中去趟澳
大利亚（工作方面），眼看时间还是来不及，于是先打电话试图expedite AP，等一周
无效后在郭律师建议下发信fax骚扰参议员。纽约州的 senator Gillibrand 专门负责
移民绿卡事宜，手下的agent 很有效率，当天就回复说会帮我问，还寄来了书面信说
the case is being reviewed by an officer and the decision will be made

工作背景：
美国三流纳米PhD，现在小公司scientist
水文16篇，一作4（2journal+2proceeding）。
他引100刚过。
审稿30出头，8个杂志。
推荐信大概会有6，其中4个独立。
身份背景：
OPT Extension中，11月底到期。
现在准备最晚2月内递EB1b，TSC。律师建议Concurrent，但我在犹豫是否先递140 PP。
因为如果PP万一不过，还能申个H1b。如果Concurrent，万一到了5，6月份知道没过的
话，就傻眼了。。律师觉得直接Concurrent，两个一起等，还省了PP钱（好像律师比我
有信心，不觉得会不过）。

。我在网上看到140和485可以一起提交(concurrent filing).但是我公司HR发给我的文
档（关于申请绿卡过程的文档）没有提concurrent filing。文档里说140基本都用
premium processing。
我的问题是：
我是否Qualify Concurrent filing form I140 & 485？或者这个取决于公司是否愿意？

风险？

先提供一下背景：
本人理工科背景，去年7，8月份找律师开始弄EB1A的材料。后来因为家庭因素辞职去了
另一个地方，目前在找工业界的职位，OPT挂在PhD老板那里，今年8月底过期。但是因
为已经在extension上，法院5月份也有可能判决extension无效，在5月份过期，所以才
搞得有点着急。140材料上一切已经完备，就差一个EVL。虽然说EVL对EB1A并不是必须
的，但是我换到工业界去最好140提交时的职位和工作内容和后来485的吻合比较好。
现在想请教几个问题，希望有经验的人能提供一下意见：
1. 如果找工业界工作一直没有起色，打算注册个和专业相关的公司来接consulting业
务，然后给自己出EVL，同时递交140和485，拿临时EAD继续保持身份。那么这个过程是
否需要注意什么问题？
2. 如果4/1前找到工作，H1B的抽签其实也会很渺茫，同样需要用concurrent来拿临时
EAD工作。这样concurrent的话是否最好不要pp？还有什么需要注意的吗？concurrent

能不能把DIY的485交给律师然后放同一个包裹concurrently file?
如果我的I-140 nonPP 星期一先寄到NSC，然后过两天星期三寄DIY的485行不行?
甚至把140寄NSC, 把DIY的485寄到VSC (vermont service center)行不行? VSC貌似收
485不收140。

知我H4到拿到EAD会有3个月的gap。但这样会对LD的工作造成很大影响，毕竟没有一个
老板对接受一个员工没法工作三个月。

但有两个星期的gap。我LD今天同时受到H4和EAD的approval notice。两个生效期一样。
我们的操作过程如下：
1. 我LD的H-1B今年9月到期
2. 我们3月中寄出了H-1B转H4和EAD的Concurrent Filing
3. I797表(H-1B转H4的表)上可以自己设置effective date，我们设了9月。
4. 但问题是EAD的表上不可以设effective date。我们在concurrent filing的cover
letter。写明了我们希望H4和EAD同天生效。因为不同天会影响LD的工作。看来 USCIS

感觉这玩意挺有意思，没java那么啰嗦，还有REPL
我打算下个project用它代替python做 data processing
如果incanter好使的话，也可以部分代替R做analysis
不过仔细想想好像除了concurrency，似乎没有其他大优势了？
1.不考虑并行的话，clojure大致比纯java慢点，比纯python快。但是python很多需要
性能的包是c fortran写的，这样算起来，clojure并不一定快
2.据说用fp很容易实现concurrency，不用为了性能重新用c/c++写一遍 and/or 折腾
lock来实现并行。 其实我的大部分job可以很容易分成小份的单独跑，这样
concurrency是不是也没啥优势了？ |

如果要用，就用java.util.concurrency
你不会不知道ConcurrentHashMap就是其中一个最常用的类吧？
你说的synchronizedhashmap其实就是hashtable
只不过提供了一种方式把hashmap -> hashtable而不用改动api
这样可以直接做wrapper，而不用改动源代码
但是这个仅仅是api level的保留，本质上还是hashtable
所以hashtable vs concurrenthashmap
你这个区别不懂吗？
我估计你根本就没看懂我在说什么，我说的是syncrhonized method
跟下面这个人说的基本上一样，不是用synchronised hashmap
是类似
public synchronized void myFunc() {
read, incre, write etc.
}
我压根没说hashtable，因为已经凹凸很久了

标 题: 有人知道 concurrent H1b 怎末算时间吗？

concurrent H1b 一个full time，一个par time. 是一年算两年还是一年算一年？好像
两种说法都听过。应该只有一个对，

Parallelism is when things do happen at the same time. You can think of

我有一个问题： 在A公司full time工作，H1B。现在B公司找到我想我给他们part time
（10hr/week)。
1. 对于h1b,可行么？ 总时间大于40hr/week
2. 是否B公司申请一个concurrent h1b就可以了？我不想让A公司知道
3. 如果可行，应该问 B公司要 W2，对吧？

本人L1a，公司从去年底开始帮忙走EB1c绿卡流程。据公司律师说4月初已经file了140
，但到现在没有任何消息。
是不是至少应该有一个notice寄到家里说已经收到材料了？
另外我有同事早我一点file，用的是concurrent filing，这样很快就能开始申请AP然
后出差就很方便了。
但是轮到我不知道为啥就没有用concurrent filing，心中有些忐忑，觉得是不是公司
觉得不够有信心？
然后律师告诉我说现在140处理得8-10个月，这样下去我的visa都过期了还弄不完，完
全没法出差了。
实在是不想重新签L1a，而且也不想老因为等着这个卡浪费青春。
这两年在这边已经错过了不少国内外的机会，眼看着就老了，为了这个绿卡还不知道要
等多久，搞得完全没法做长期的人生规划。
希望有经验的盆友指点一二，如果是2015年四月递交i140，大概多久能够拿到卡？ |

着NBC已经知道如何处理F2A concurrent filing 了呢？
我重读了RFE review的instruction: "You should expect to receive a written
decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your
response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of
case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use
the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case
