在生物化学实验室工作。因为怀孕，很多人建议有些有机溶剂不要接触以免对宝宝不好
。做实验时需要用少量有birth defect的药品。今天和老板谈这事儿，说明了自己怀孕
的情况。先是皮笑肉不笑的说good for you。我看情况不妙，就很小心地说有些实验用
的东西我有些concern，希望老板给出建议。结果老板直接说：“我的建议就是，你去
找其他的工作。如果你有这些concern，而用这些东西工作是你90%的工作内容，你不干
这些，这实验室没活儿让你干了。”我说：“我不是什莫都不干，只是希望有人在用到
这些物品的时候帮我一下，其他的我没问题。” 老板说：“你去写个list 出来，明天
labmeeting讨论。但是我还是建议你有concern就去找别的工作。”
在这个老板手下一直干的不错，老板也多次表示满意我的工作。可是资本家毕竟是资本
家，不能满足自己利益就直接开了你。

1.大部分CMG都有MD/PhD.毕业年限较长。
2.Spoken English。这是主要concern。有的人口音重，对话很难让同事理解。对策：
早点开始练习，不要等到快面试了才练习。这是长期过程，每天花15分钟，坚持下来效
果显著。具体方法版上有不少帖子讨论过，这里就不啰嗦了。
3.Culture difference.PD特指医院和医疗文化的差异。我的对策：首先肯定他的
concern，告诉他确实有差异。但是，我尽了最大努力来弥补。后面用事实来back up我
的论点。（1）在医院做volunteer,具体是在护士站帮忙，凡是能帮忙的事情我都主动
动手去做，跟护士聊天，了解他们的工作，了解他们对医生的expectation.跟病人聊天
，了解他们的心理。（2）OB是硬道理。具体讲讲做OB时做了什么，比如interview
patients,presentation cases,write soap notes,following lab reports等等。这里

company. The law firm is on behalf of that top company. I'm wondering
whether there are some risks and concerns for a faculty member to act as

位将来的方展有一些Concern。
我知道版上很多IT牛人，看不惯做咨询耍嘴皮子的，但我不是技术牛人，又特别贪恋花
花世间各种好玩的东西，所以请轻砸。
1。 作为一个中国人，语言和文化的融入始终是个问题。我的口语还行，但是如果是跟
一帮美国人在一起，有的时候觉得挺难插嘴的，文化上也是，很多时候不知道怎么制造
Topic。做咨询，挺靠耍嘴皮子的，我担心这个会是我将来职业发展的一个阻碍。而且
，如果以后做累了做厌了，再回到工程领域的可能性估计不大。
2。另外一个Offer是加州的一家较大的软件公司，老板对我很Support，看得出来也满
重视我的，挺想让我去，给的工资比咨询给的要好不少。职位是软件开发（不需要特别
高深的算法知识），但是我是学工程的，技术背景不是很强，没有修过算法课编程课，
都是半路出家，这也可能是以后发展的一个瓶颈(如果走技术这条路，以后可以向管理
层发展)。另外，如果从了这家，我的concern是，生活可能就是一望无际的平淡如水，

Global economy slowdown or even higher commodity prices will hurt V since it

Also, back a few days ago, the market rises when inflation increase. Why now
it should work the other way around?
A similar thing is oil price. For a couple of weeks, oil price had been
