一哥们刚去看了，有一对，好像在孵蛋，至少已经在那里两星期了，有兴趣的可以去看
看。可惜我手头没有400mm以上的炮。 |

最后，预测一下the Big One的epicenter, 想必是去年（10/30/07）的Magnitude 5.4
event near Alum Rock处无疑，因为this event (/30/07 Magnitude 5.4 event near
Alum Rock)，将弯曲最危险的Hayward fault （现在处于150年的窗口期）与另一条大
致沿I-680走向的Calaveras fault连在一起。不过，南湾鬼谷的同学大可放心，大部分
鬼谷的office buildings都不太高，且不少是1995年后建造的。再加上大部分鬼谷的
single family houses也是1995年后建造的，均符合1995年发布的新抗震规范的要求。
只是在最危险的是三藩及Oakland的Downtown的high-rise office buildings上班的各
位，小心驶得万年船，take care.

附近上班。最近看了CARLSBAD, CARMEL VALLEY和SAN MARCOS 的房子。现在有两个新房
都挺喜欢的。
1. Carlsbad的PALO VERDE AT FOOTHILL （~3000sqft,80多万）: FLOOR PLAN 很喜欢
，二楼有些VIEW,可以越过邻居房顶看到一些远方的山脉。上班路程近一些。小学中学
高中分别是HOPE ELEMENTARY（9分）, CALAVERA HILLS MIDDLE （8分）, CARLSBAD
HIGH （8分）OR SAGE CREEK HIGH. SAGE CREEK HIGH 是一个新建的高中，据说新高中
一般会不错，离新房小区步行距离。但感觉CALAVERA HILLS MIDDLE 稍微差一些。
2. San Marcos的San Elijo Hill上的Bella Vista （~3500 sqft,90万出头）: FLOOR

发帖数: 2405 | 16 开了4年了，没有出过任何问题，昨天突然不能打火，很明显电池不行了。
Jump Start以后以为至少可以开到两英里以外的WalMart去。因为天热，
我顺手开了空调，结果车子立刻熄火，还好是在趴车场，第二次次Jump Start
开到Calaveras Blvd上半英里车子又熄火了。这可不是趴车场，后面的车全都
被我堵住了。老婆开着另一辆车跟着，我赶紧把另一辆车在Calaveras Blvd上
反向停车停在stall的accord前面，第三次Jump Start成功，旁边一个老美冲
着我们骂骂咧咧。靠，我也没有办法呀。
离walmart还有一英里，第三次jump start后，车的engine light很快就亮
了，我当时那个沮丧呀，以为发动机也坏了。再开两分钟，仪表盘一堆指示灯纷纷
亮起，不过还好没有碰到full stop的地方需要低速开，否则车子肯定会stall。
挣扎着开到milpitas的walmart，跟换电池的service advisor说起车子turn
on ac就会stall，人家说很可能是alternator坏了。不过我还是想先把电池换了，
反正也4年，到寿命了。 |

not for sure.

查了一下，去年这个时候也H过一次SUNOL，今年重温一下。这
个时候草应该有点绿了，不过花儿还没有全面盛开，主要是这个
地点隔东、南湾的同学都很近，680下去不远就到了，就当做锻
炼身体、BURN一点FAT了。
时间：2月4日（周六）中午12点半
地点：Sunol Regional Wilderness
地点简介：
整个往返路线的hiking长度是7.5 miles，总起伏1800 feet，难度中
等，估计全部下来需要3.5个小时。
天气预报：周六最高温度在67度左右，partly sunny。

I have done five of them unofficially, all on a pancake flat trail I
normally need 8 hours to complete 100 miles, yes, I am supper slow.
Climbed on Mt. Hamilton (elevation gain is 4,000+ft in 25 miles) once in
last July...
Did a charity 75K ride 2 years ago (Tour De Cure California), overall, not
much experience ride with a big group...nor ride with busy traffic :-(

发帖数: 118 | 22 新手，刚开始骑车两个月。平路没问题，爬坡不是很会。一直在家门口的alum rock
park 练习，但坡度太小，不用前小盘也能轻松爬上去。这个周末连续试着爬sierra
road 和Calaveras road，很困难。 sierra根本上不去，calaveras爬了1迈不到就累的
要死。
穿着锁鞋爬坡非常怕摔，速度一慢下来就想解锁跳车，其实cadence还很高呢。
高手们给指点指点如何克服怕摔的心理，如何有效练习爬坡。湾区的朋友推荐几个适合
新手的trial？

to work.
680S -> calaveras road -> milpitas -> back on 680S -> Montague
calaveras has 10 miles of turns :) pretty fun to drive

about 5 miles east of the Alum Rock neighborhood of San Jose.

发帖数: 5 | 42 这家幼儿园在最早的时候是Tour了NNN个学校以后的选择。当时孩子是2岁，那个阶段对
我来说孩子学什么并不重要，但是老师要爱小孩子，环境要干净整洁，playground不能
太小了。基于以上的考量选中了Crescent Montessori。他们当时的一个plus是有
camera家长可以看的。现在camera突然之间就说撤掉了。
当时小班的老师有三个一个叫Nora，一个叫Antonia还有一个叫Hannah。这三个老师都
还是不错的，虽然lead teacher有时候说话有欺瞒的嫌疑，但是在我身上并没有发生太
过分的事情。后来lead teacher走了，来了个叫Kimberly的白人老师，经过一段时间以
后发现她也是个非常不错的老师。至少非常非常的爱孩子，很用心。她可以轻松的说出
哪个孩子喜欢什么不喜欢什么，谁喜欢什么颜色，是不是有小的特殊的癖好她都如数家
珍。但是现在她也走了，Antonia老师她是负责给孩子换尿片等事情的，对孩子真是满

再不成你去Lucky买，Lucky也有99分的in-adq到礼拜二。mm要强硬一点，要不然每次都

to have amc10 in town center, but since early 2001 it became
cinema saver 10, cheap $3 second line movies - $1 on Tuesdays
talking about milpitas community, north of Jacklin are decent,
maybe because it is closer to Fremont/Mission San Jose. between
jacklin and calaveras are half decent - lots of closed communities
still good. the community along Park Victoria is somehow very blue
collar alike. and south of Landess is a mess to me - he |

哈哈,我前些天被同事骗去走了那条路,Calaveras R.那确实是心惊肉跳.电话信号都没
有啦.很多弯,很多地方都只能10mile的速度开.很多树荫斑驳,路还有点不好看清楚.不
过旁边山下是小湖,有时间的还是可以欣赏一下自然景色. |

1。酒店。9月份可能是NAPA的最旺季，在我们要去的地点
的很多酒店我都联系过，大约有50%的现在已经fully booked。
我们活动这次的关键问题是人员比较多，需要的房间也很多，
很多性价比很高的Bed & Breakfast根本就装不下我们这个团。
而且因为是旺季，大部分酒店在周末要求至少住两个晚上。
目前我们确定的酒店算是一个不错的折衷选择，我去年还在
那里住过一次。想着大家白天去踩葡萄再hiking，晚上能去
它的温泉游泳池泡一下是比较爽的（整个NAPA没有几家酒店
有这个，有的一般都比这个贵）（这个酒店还有更爽的是mud
bath，有点贵，愿意尝试的同学可以自己去做）。
2。踩葡萄。这个活动在很多酒庄都有。那些很愤怒的已婚人
士可以自己去这两个地方。
一是在Lilvermore的White Crane Winery，日期是9月13日，

另外一个稍微远一点，在Calaveras，到Sacramento再过去一
