在法拉盛街上碰到他，听说他一共转了5次学校，最后终于在Queens borough
Community College 毕业了。比我还厉害的一个人。（我一共在3个不同的学校，读了7
年的本科才毕业）。 |

Steakhouses are very good in nyc.
There are lots of very nice supermarkets in nyc such as
whole foods. Organic foods are easier to find.
Housing cost is more expensive in Manhattan, but not that
bad in the other four boroughs.
NYC's subways usually give people a unsafe impression. But
it's not true unless you go to the wrong places. Manhattan
itself is very safe.
I agree there are lots of blacks and latinos over there.

Start from and end at Central Park entrance at 59th Street and Central Park
West.
Going through three boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens.
Climb over two major bridges in NYC - Brooklyn bridge and Queensborough
bridge.
The course is mostly waterfront and on the bike/run path- Safe and smooth.
Total mileage 19 miles. If you add a loop in the central park, that's a
marathon there.

Joy Johnson from San Jose, California, took just under eight hours to

发帖数: 97 | 36 2014年春天十年结婚纪念日。正好三姨三姨夫在美国帮忙看小孩，和lx 两人一商量决
定伦敦周末游庆祝结婚十年。周三下午的飞机，周四中午到伦敦。机场买了一瓶Napa的
冰酒，结果飞机上不让喝。旅馆使用积分点数换的，在伦敦市中心。
中午到了急急忙忙扔下行李出来玩。随便找了一家法国风味的小馆子，烧牛肉和酸菜烤
鱼，价格不贵，味道很好。菜单都是法语，所以蒙了两个，没想到都算可口。然后按照
Ld的计划，看了白金汉宫和大笨钟，步行市中心广场一圈
周五上午坐船游览伦敦，主要是看各色各样的桥。然后参观了London tower 城堡。去
之前ld恶补了一下英国历史文化知识，所以看得津津有味，这个一世那个二世的，我比
较一头雾水，但是参观皇室珠宝馆颇为激动人心，历届国王的王冠，特别是著名的大钻
石，令人惊叹。另外印象深刻的就是在此间失踪或者死亡的那两个幼年王子，每个国家
的历史都有黑暗的一面吧。 中午吃了著名的炸鱼和薯条。没想到英国的炸鱼薯条相当
好吃，是整鱼炸出来的，而且肉很新鲜，炸的也入味，比美国餐馆里的好吃太多。

发帖数: 1 | 37 在伦敦读书的一年，出门基本靠走。那时候用Oyster Card (伦敦的交通卡)坐一次地铁的费用最低是1.9英镑，公交车是1镑；当时在北京坐一次地铁是2块钱(全线，不论从哪站坐到哪站)，坐一次公交是4毛，学生卡是2毛。我室友说在伦敦坐一次地铁的钱，够她在北京坐一个月的车！而且，伦敦地铁经常各种维护，有之前通知关闭的，也有临时故障检修的。所以，走着是最稳妥、最经济、最环保的出行方式。
出行靠走带来的红利就是每天将近两个小时的有氧运动 (往返)，再加上没钱且没有东西可大吃大喝，两个月后，体重就达到了人生的低谷！既开心又觉得略心酸——真是一条饥寒交迫的求学路。
特别幸运的是，我住的地方到学校的那条路，基本上贯穿了泰晤士河(The Thames)沿岸最知名的景点，在宿舍和学校间往返，就像是每天参加一次泰晤士河一日游。以伦敦的标志性建筑塔桥 (Tower Bridge) 为起点，沿着河，一路从东向西走，到千禧桥 (Millennium Bridge) 为终点。
