syndrome, which is completely benign and nothing to worry about. Gilbert is
usually exacerbated by stress, and indirect bilirubin is much higher than
direct bilirubin.
If your father takes a test again and it goes back to normal, chances are it
is Gilbert. If it is still high, his doctor may wanna to do further work
up, i.e. CT. |

in that hospital you will know the claims were true.
I don't know how it happend but it could be the way they treat bilirubin.
There was a new born dead in that hospital because of high bilirubin years
ago. Since then the hospital give lots of formula to new born to help the
bilirubin. the formula caused the new born get used to formula and reject
human milk. Yes you can sue them but you won't win because it was you didn't

的已经受不了了,哭了.baby这么乖,使劲吃,使劲拉,居然还这样.
吃饱了,照光去了.接着20分钟才pump了0.75OZ.很沮丧.以为自己是草牛.第二次直接
pump,不到5分钟2oz.想让baby一次吃多点.结果人家就吃了1.5OZ,不多不少.拉了很多
poopoo.很开心.护士说第二次验血,bilirubin降到18了.很开心.
了这个时候医生说实在不行就加液体奶,formula,IV.为什么不一开始就让妈妈加点别的
奶?我真是很郁闷.简单的一件事,为什么搞成这样?老公和我体力严重超支. |

看上去不黄？还是血检bilirubin指标降下来？
我娃不到2个月，也还黄着呢。但是血检指标已经降了。
母乳的话，有些娃娃是会黄的时间久一些，血液里bilirubin clear了，但是皮肤表层
的，不容易被降解掉。因为母乳太好吸收了。小分子营养直接拿来用，不需要带动太多
其他的代谢途径。配方奶的话，会快很多。
不过痛恨lactation consultant。。也恨自己没有更坚持刚出生的时候加配方奶。
不然现在娃娃粉粉嫩嫩的，该多好。 |

start by seeing a primary care physician first, ask them to fractionate the
total bili, and see if direct or indirect bilirubin is high, AST only mildly
elevated, might not mean a whole lot,
keep in mind the so-called liver function test(ast, alt, alk phos) is not
indicative of synthetic function of liver, coags such as PT, PTT and also
albumin are more reflective of true "liver function" |

cell hemolysis; 2) decreased liver metabolism.
Not sure what do you mean by normal liver func. Normal AST/ALT doesn't mean
liver must be fine. You probably want to follow up with ultrasound. |

apparent on CBC. It looks like everything else is fine.
I also have the puzzle here. Mild increase of both direct & indirect
bilirubin is not that uncommon, so does ALT, AST. What can be the cause if
no apparent liver injury, i.e. HBV/HCV, chronic alcoholism, NAFLD,
autoimmune, hemochromatosis etc. |

for any hematuria, you really have to try very hard to distinguish between
glomerular disease and extra-glomerular disease, if there is any red cell
cast, protein, abnomrally shaped red cells in the urine, then it's likely
glomerular disease and any further urological evaluation is not necessary
and you need to see a nephrologist,
assume you have painless microscopic hematuria, slightly elevated bilirubin,
all other labs and all other indices in urinalysis are normal, sounds like
urolog |

On top of that, preterm babies are susceptible to retinopathy of prematurity, another possible cause. Oxygen supplementation is a minor risk factor here, but not the main reason.
