洒盐 主要是为了防止车道和人行道结冰
车道或是人行道 雪铲的再干净
还是会有残留的雪 白天气温升高溶化成水
晚上气温降低就会结冰
车道清理的完全干净 还是可能被车道或是人行道
旁边的雪堆给污染
车道或是人行道结冰 很容易滑倒受伤的
美国常见的de-ice (ice-melt)盐
有rock salt,calcium chloride and magnesium chloride,
纯的或是混合物
一般说rock salt 会伤车道 是因为rock salt到 0度F 就会结冰
雪溶成水以后会渗到车道里面去 如果气温到了0F以下
盐水结冰 就会把车道涨坏 在美国北部常见
中南部冬天没有这样冷 就没有关系
calcium chloride 或是magnesium chloride 溶解到水里面时候
会放热 可以帮助雪溶化
它们的水溶液结冰的温度比0度F低 所以渗到车道里面以后
结冰的机会变小 所以大家说比较不伤车道
其实只要asphalt driveway有定期 seal
concrete driveway 的concrete 有做防 |

You must have small roof, $3000 is not bad, but will not last very long,
cheap asphalt will last 10 to 15 years, good slate roof could last well over
200 years.

Style：colonial，model：colonial。Exter： clapboard， color：country red。
Complex: Chelsea, Fuel: Gas. A/C：Central,
Parking: Driveway, 2 car attached. Wall: Sheetrock Roof: Asphalt.
房子正面朝西，稍微偏向北一点，有porch和走廊。应该夏天起到遮阳的作用。前院全
是草坪和花，没有树。这个小区所有的房子前院好像都没有树。后院有点下坡，但是坡
度还能接受。是一片树林，不会有新房建造。

Many places online can sell you just 1 piece of 瓦片 (tile).
If it is clay or ceramic, might be hard to match color, but if it is slate,
it should be easy.
Only cheap asphalt shingle (not really called 瓦片) come in a bundle at a
time. |

done correctly.
But if your house can not support the weight, metal should be the next best
choice, usually have 50 year warranty and have enough color and pattern
choice to look good for most houses. It also release heat very fast after
sun go down if you happen to live in a hot climate.
Asphalt shingle is the worst roofing material, but since it cheap, most
builder put them on their spec house. |

if they do, they won't show.
In your case, you can ask the roofer to install a piece of zinc strip after
power wash. Used to be copper strip, but copper stains the light-colored
roof to some pinkish shade. |

Usually, it's expensive to install bricks and keep an even surface. Besides,
there's one more problem in New England, frost upheaval (for those never
heard of this , just google). To avoid that, every permanent structure needs
footing below frost line, which is about 4' here. But driveway can't afford
that, right? Sure, the problem is common to all driveways, true, they all
crack up eventually, but asphalt is self-curing, which makes it ideal for
New England winter.

先按stationary crack修 不行再按moving crack修 前者是用patch mortar 后者用
fiber cloth＋asphalt/epoxy resin 这是治标
治本就要难一点 渗水并且都出crack了 说明外面土壤液压太大 不管怎么补 都只能顶
一阵子 最终液压都会破坏掉你的patch 或者找个别的弱点crack出来
如果只是地表水短时间内下渗太多 可以设法把水引开 但要是地下水位长期过高 又能
把水引到哪里去呢？大多数地方都不允许你把sump pump discharge排回storm sewer了
更何况 很多住户区根本就没有storm sewer.希望你的情况没有这么极端（这种情况
老汉见过用plastic sheeting把整个地下部分包起来的 但开销太大） |

发帖数: 1230 | 30 打算自己动手做Driveway Sealing，看了lowe's的教学，觉得可以自己搞定。
我的Asphalt Driveway比较长，有70ft多，宽大概20ft，算下来总共面积将近1500sqft
,和房子的居住面积都差不多大了。。。。。。。。。
去lowe's看了sealing的涂料，一桶在25-35刀之间，每桶可以cover 350sqft.那就是说
我的driveway需要至少4桶。再加上补crack的材料和工具，全部的原料就要150刀-200
刀了。而且这也还是做刷一层coat的打算，lowe's建议做2层coat，那么仅原料费用就
基本要翻倍，要到350-400刀了。
我看到小区里面不少人家都是请专门的handman来做，看到传单上写seal driveway 50
起。于是想比较一下价格，打了几个电话要求quote,其中一个给了答复，说来看了我的
driveway，sealing加补crack一共78.95刀。确认了3次价格，确定一定以及肯定没有听
错，不过实在低到有点离谱啊！这点钱去lowe's买一半材料都不够啊，有经验的同学能
不能介绍一下内幕啊？！多谢啦～～！！ |

fit into my yard. The 20'x45' is the right size that my yard can hold.
my yard is surrounded by tall trees and building, so the wind is not big
problem unless it is too strong
also think of adding a basket racket on one side so that it will be a
multifunction sports court
hardness of the ground is truly a concern, but I also check online that some
one mentioned adding some asphalt topping will mitigate.
