为生老大,陪LD来美国读博士, 然后生老二, 在家带孩子7年了. 其间也申请过两次学校
, 但每次都申请LD以前读的一个学校,都没成功, 失败的主要原因可能是申请跨专业(统
计)的博士. 2010年, LD来LA做博后,去年老二也开始上学, 所以又重新申请了一次, 这
次是1个统计, 4个生物统计(有一个是LD现在的学校),一个会计硕士(CSU). 现在最想去
的LD的学校把我拒了.University of Florida的生物统计系给我硕士生admission. 现
所在城市的加州州立大学的会计系也给了硕士的admission.
现在不知道去哪个好. 感觉各有利弊. 去UF的话,可能要带两个小孩去读, 与LD先分开
一段, 学费要两万多一年,比较贵,而且要在8月中之前搬家, 找房子, 找学校, 压力很
大. 在LA的CSU读的话, 这一年不用搬家, 但每天要开半个多小时的车去上课,还要开高
速, 我还从来没开过高速;在CSU读的话, 算州内学费, 很便宜, 才几千一个学年. 不好

还好上海今天中午1000过了。
F2情况：新的SEVIS I-20,2月初办的，可能是最早进入SEVIS系统的一部分。
我的SEVIS number和F2的是不同的Number,最后两位不一样，她的是我的2倍。
我的Admission number 虽然有，但是比没有还差，是错的，拿到的时候没有仔细
对，结果直到昨天晚上我们最后核查的时候才发现号码和老I20上不一样，少了
一个8，而且学校代码多了一个0，简直是一份错的I20，反正也没时间要正确
的I-20了，加上现在看到SEVIS的毛病这么多，我们今天本来没抱多大希望，开玩
笑是去抽奖了，如果不过能查出哪里有问题就行了。所以现在看来签证官可能不怎么
管Admission num的事情，SEVIS的号码可能是最重要的，个人信息全对应着这个号码。
还不知道在这个系统里签证官到底看到了什么，因为金发美女在计算机
上查了半天，却一句话也没对F2说有关SEVIS的问题，只是告诉说你去拿签证吧。
我昨天给我们学校ISSO发信问他们我F2的信息到底是不是独立于我的，还没有回信，

我看了护照，I-94，还有I-20都盖了章，
写着 US IMMIGRATION ADMITTED （date）
第一次入境的时候，
海关的officer还在护照上写了一个
admission #: xxxxxx (=当时的I-94 number)
所以，我一直觉得admission是指入境。
不过你的理解（你的律师的理解）应该没错。

higher ed budget cut得历害, 去年至少25个州都在CUT, international students念
本科的那4年交的都是州外生的学费, 有合法渠道赚钱谁会不赚, 老美又不傻.
99%回国的专业是极少数. 呵呵, 基本就是象东亚啦, 教育啦, 英美文学啦, 不管是MA
还是PHD, 毕业=失业. 国内找不到工作的专业在美国一样不好找.
另外, 给盖老师补充一点: 有些人, 只为了镀个金, 搞得自己有点身价. 这年头哥大,
宾大的MS至少50%的专业都是水发ADMISSIONS, HARVARD的EDUCATION SCHOOL也是水发ADMISSIONS, 我见过1个跑去HARVARD念EDU MA的上海女生, 人家还不要留下来, 觉得太
苦, 还没毕业就买好回国机票了, 回上海后好自称哈大校友, 然后吊个金龟婿, 不过人
家家里本来也是有点花头的, 就缺张文凭撑门面而已.

I feel for me, 6 is the limit. I was able to sign out on time. but cannot imagine if I need to suddenly have to overlook 12 new ones as a PGY-2. I have been thinking about transfer to this specialty recently. But if this is a typical life of this specialty, I might reconsider my decision.
