发帖数: 26 | 1 had 6 admission in one day during last call. feeling exhausted after off work. we had 2 interns so 11 admissions in total, and the PGY-2 need to overlook the 11 new pts on top of the old ones.
I feel for me, 6 is the limit. I was able to sign out on time. but cannot imagine if I need to suddenly have to overlook 12 new ones as a PGY-2. I have been thinking about transfer to this specialty recently. But if this is a typical life of this specialty, I might reconsider my decision.
Also I am curious, how different is the life between attn and residents
stresswise, and hourwise. I know many ppl here are attns. Do u enjoy ur attn lives more than resident lives, if financial issue is not considered?

residents work for them on the floor. What else do you want?

players(i am the only one covering the hospital)
Another record for a 24 hour plus morning round: saw 40-50 patient on round (only the attending and me)
Another record for a 24 hour call: got paged every 15 minutes, called
attending every 30 minutes

发帖数: 609 | 12 你好厉害，我昨晚夜班，9pm-7:15am signout,忙了一个晚上，除了cover 40 多张床的floor,4 admissions,1 RRT, 1 death (death notes, death certificates, call family member and PCP and finger print----took me a lot of time),今早8:30am 还要赶去clinic (每周一个半天），晚上9:00pm还要去上夜班， 累死了，觉得住院医就是在拚体力，已经上了8个夜班了，没有1分钟合眼的，都在不停的忙，就盼着周六了，还有就是赶快出夜班，能有个正常点的生活，哪怕早出晚归也行。

distributed between 2 interns, got 5 new ones in the morning from night
float, admitted 7 more during the day. Another record was 13 admission
within 24 hours. That was an ACGME violation.

plus cover 2 floors, and one of the new admissions i had to present to ICU.
PGY-1 and 2 really sucks, but PGY-3 is much better. | z*******2
