, but the quality are much lower too (compared with same brand/package). You

I only bought Planters cashew from amazon so this might not apply to other
stuff. The cashew I bought were too stiff, too much in pieces, and they
seemed to be overcooked, I mean, they generally looked darker than the
Planters cashew I bought from supermarkets and tasted worse.I no longer buy
them from amazon, the quality was disappointing.

Probably marketing strategy. They classify the quality of their products,
and distribute different grades of product via different channels according
to the ease of selling bad stuff out.
