likely to occur early next year, if global demand for personal computers
slows further, a Samsung Electronics Co. executive said Tuesday.
But all of Samsung's DRAM chip plants continue to run at full capacity and
it expects to produce more DRAM chips used in personal computers this
quarter than in the second quarter, Oh-Hyun Kwon, president of Samsung's
chip division, said at a news conference in Taipei, where the South Korean
electronics giant is holding a one-day forum on the mobile-phone industry.
Kwon also said prices of NAND flash memory chips will be well supported
through next year due to strong demand for tablet PCs and smartphones.
