Senior class has only 6 players. Can you believe that?
All 5th year seniors plus seniors plus juniors ~= ONE sophomore class. Can
you believe that?
We have 74 scholarship players which is 11 short of the national limit. Can
you believe that?
Geez. The current turmoil is not just one person's fault. It basically is a
10 year effort by some stupid administrators and coaches, etc. I wouldn't
name those people here. Charlie has his shares, but he is basically p

managed will suffer failure like this. The college football has succeeded a
better parity than 50 years agao. A brand like Notre Dame can be tarnished
if it's not well maintained. I guess just ask yourself how many records you
guys have created in recent years.

My response: doubtful. I am not sure which school you are in, but do you
have a 6-member senior class?
You have a point, but you didn't differentiate the skill positions and the "
meat" positions. It takes less time for a wide receiver or a running back to
make impact on a team because the most important critiria for them is speed
. Speed is speed and you don't usually gain much while in college? Did you?
Well, actually I did. I improved my 100 meter from 13" to 12.6" in college.

BTW, I know your freshmen include red-shirt freshmen who are sophomores and
so forth. There is a big difference between true freshmen, sophomores and
red-shirt freshmen and sophomores.
By ND's definition (we don't red-shirt anyone and we have 5th seniors), you
have 30 juniors, 15 seniors and 13 5th seniors. That's a total number of 58
players comparing to our 29.

Basically, that's a class with all the freshmen and sophomores. So when you
hear a TV announcer say this is a red-shirt freshmen, actually he is a
sophomore by academic years. That player has been with the school for 2
years.
So basically using academic year standard, they have
60 freshmen and sophomores.
30 Juniors.
15 Seniors.
13 fifth year seniors.
This is also the system ND use.
The total number (118) is big because they have many walk-ons.

You just don't understand red-shirt, do you? Go to the names of your so
called sophomore class to see if they were 2005 recruits. The majority of
the players will be red-shirted. That's why you have a fat freshmen class
with 60 people. That's a combination of your freshmen and sophomore (red-
shirted) classes. They are called the freshmen class in the red-shirt system
