SOUTH BEND ?For the second consecutive spring game Saturday, Notre Dame
freshman quarterback Jimmy Clausen was greeted by the spirited applause of
Irish fans.
This time around, the gathering was much larger, a record-setting Blue-Gold
Game crowd of 51,852 as compared to the small-but-vocal room full of ND fans
at the College Football Hall of Fame a year ago for his now-famous
announcement that he had decided to attend Notre Dame.
