VT is only needed in the 64 bit mode. I doubt you are running 64
bit guest OS.

how can it be faster? one thing I know with VT, Xen (used as a reference
here, not exactly sure about VMWARE) runs directly on the protection 1,2,
which is not used by any oses today, so it's essentially the same as the
hosting OS. logically if VT doesn't boost performa
