1) first, tire runs fast if sports pack, around 20k for rear, a little
better for front. my 17" tires run about $670 for 4 on tirerack.com, plus
about $100 for installation and balancing etc.
2) warranty, as long as covered by warranty, the repair is free for new car
warranty but $50 "co-pay" if the car is in CPO-covering period.
3) maintenance service, the manufacture free maintenance service starts from
the car's original in-service date, which is the date when the car is fi

My car had been almost cost-free for almost 5 years (except replacing tires
twice and fixed the damn wedge under the hood several times) until last year
during which all the bill came in at once, about $920 for brakes, $160 for
battery, and $180 service once include oil change + 2 air filters +

那套雪胎加rim看着有点贵，
要我就到modbargain上order一套假的csl style，然后tirerack上买雪胎，呵呵
其实craigslist上很多bmw的雪胎套在卖，我看便宜的也就250，
当然那个wheel肯定clear不了你的brake
0 deductible的ins估计天价了，
sport package还是有用的，不过如果天天downtown跑确实郁闷，
记得你在nyc？

再陪205的胎差不多800多拿下了，17"的这个价fair了。
我最喜欢sports package的也是方向盘和座位。

不过安装的确比较讨厌，还好我家附近有个不错的garage，
15一个，不管多大的rim。关键是那家伙计干活够细，让人放心。

2. Rear brakes: Axxis Deluxe Pads from online ($40), rotors and sensor from
dealer ($100), installed in a local shop ($50)
3. Oil Change every 10K: Mobil1 0W40 Synthetic ($6x7), Filter ($10), labor (
$15)
4. Drive and AC belt and a pulley that was making grinding noise: $150
Plan to change spark plugs myself (NGK plantium $8x6) next weekend.
Other things need to be done recently:

change it. It is easy and much cheaper. Not much risk.
You could change coolant and spark plugs yourself. Very low risk.
You could also buy some transmission fluid and gasket/filter kit, and pay
local shop 1 or 1.5 hr labor to change it ----- it is very difficult to
change by yourself. But remember to print a page of how to change it step
by step and bring it with you to show the local shop because it need special
steps t
