这是世界发展的趋势，将来人类趟在车上，告诉目的地，然后啥也不用做，就跟wall.e

Chevrolet's new, extended-range electric car is making a special trip to CMU

Expanded Information:
Walt Dorfstatter is Executive Director, Integrated Vehicle Health Management
(IVHM) at General Motors Research & Development. In this assignment, he is
responsible for new vehicle technology enablers and analytical tools to
enhance product development activities at GM and vehicle service for
consumers. IVHM is focused on vehicle diagnostics and prognostics, a
connected service environment, and warranty database analysis methods. The
goal of the activity is to develop industry-leading technology for GM, GM
dealers, technicians, and customers to improve product quality, increase
customer peace of mind and loyalty, and lower warranty costs.
Before being named to his current post, Dorfstatter was President of GM
OnStar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors Company, from October
2009 to March 2010. He is one of the founding members of the award-winning
OnStar team. He was Executive Director and Vice President of Engineering
Systems and Operations at OnStar from May 2005 to October 2009. In these
roles, Dorfstatter led the development and implementation of new OnStar
technologies and services, and led the organization in filing over 550
ground-breaking patents. Additionally, he oversaw the operations of
automated services and hardware quality.
Among Dorfstatter’s most notable achievements during his tenure leading
OnStar’s engineering team was the development of nine iterations of OnStar
hardware. Each version is progressively more robust in terms of capabilities
and breadth of services, yet the cost for each version has consistently
decreased. He credits a strong working relationship between General Motors
engineering and the OnStar team, as well as GM’s ability to alter the
vehicle development process, to accommodate these enhanced hardware sets on
an accelerated and continuous basis.
David Brownlee is the Program Validation Engineer for the Chevrolet Volt at
General Motors. Named to a PVE position in 2001, Brownlee currently oversees
the durability and safety testing of the Chevrolet Volt, ensuring that all
vehicle and component testing is completed successfully and on time for
product launch. In his 37 years with GM, the majority of Brownlee’s work
has focused on Quality Control, Reliability, and Durability Testing in the
areas of engines, transmissions, HVAC, electrical controls, and complete
vehicles. Since 2001, Brownlee has served as the Lead Validation Engineer
for a variety of vehicle programs including the Cadillac CTS, Saturn Vue,
Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell and Chevrolet Volt. | f********m
