的H1B身份和485就失效了? 还是有工卡就可以在工卡到期前找到新工作就行? 谢谢. | vb

question up to my company's attorney.

you'll be fine, even you got laid off:
1) your H1B will be gone, unless you can find another sponsor soon enough to
do a H1B transfer;
2) your 485 will be fine since 两年前递上去. your status will be "pending
adjustment of status", you can use EAD to find another job, if your EAD 到期,
you can renew it again and again, UNTIL a final decision is made on your 485
case. if approved, green card, otherwise, you have no valid status anymore;

但是有一个潜在的问题：
如果被现公司LAYOFF，H1B失效，公司有可能(法律上应该)通知移民局，这样你的
状态变化有可能马上Trigger I-485 RFE, 即使你的排期(DECISION TIME)还没到。
