問︰打坐有必要坐很久嗎？
答︰不必要。坐上好幾個小時是沒有必要的。有些人認為坐得愈久一定愈有智慧，我曾
看見雞在雞窩裡坐上好幾天呢！智慧來自於，無論你的身體做什麼動作，你都是警醒而
清楚。修行應該從清晨醒來那一刻開始，持續到你晚上睡覺之前。不要在意你能坐多久
，重要的是能否保持清醒分明。每個人都有他自己自然的壽命，有的人六十歲會死，而
有的人到九十歲才死。所以，你們每個人修行步調也不必一致，不要去想或擔心這一點
。試著保持清醒，讓事物依它自然的法則進行，這時無論你處在怎樣的境界，內心都會
愈來愈寧靜。它好比森林裡一泓清澈的池塘，所有美麗和稀有的動物都跑來喝水，你清
醒地看見萬事萬物的本來面目，看到美麗稀奇的動物來了又走了，但你仍寂然不動。煩
惱會產生，但你能立刻透視它們。這是佛陀獲致的安詳和幸福。 |

说得非常好，这个保持清醒分明，就是正念的持续。这是非常非常重要的。
每时每刻，我们都要让正念持续。
而这个东西其实说起来并不难，关键在于我们是否愿意去做。

针对不同情况有不同答案。
比方说有的禅师就要求心力强的弟子坐到痛消失为止。
有的却反对初学者打坐超过一个小时。
反正不同阶段有不同的要求
不过有一点是共同的，那就是都要求在日常生活中保持正念 |
