发帖数: 197 | 1 目前这个实验室POSTDOC呆了一年，老板脾气不好路人皆知，都快成光杆司令了，我是唯一实验
室干活的。
一年辛苦换来一篇文章，但是现在才改到第6稿，老伴答应我做通讯作者。
虽然合同明年5月到期，老板倒是想我以后都留下来做，因为没别人了嘛。
但是我现在就想找下家（别的postdoc职位）走了，一天都不想多呆。但是为了文章，
我还没有透露这个意思，所以每天杂七杂八的事情还对在我头上。。
这种情况下，原来博士导师，加上现在的系主任做reference行得通吗？关键我跟系主
任没打过什么交道，reference是要推荐？还是只要证明我在系里呆过，没犯法没出事？ |

人家恐怕会问为啥不找现在老板做推荐。。。
如果对方这么问，我到时候再和盘托出在这里的血泪史？

如果别人不喜欢你老板，人家就会信你。
如果别人是你老板的朋友，你就不要说了。
所以俺的建议就是不要找你老板的朋友。

do you know any other faculty in the department who knows something about
your work?
BTW, it is a very bad idea to ask the Chair for a letter if you don't have a
personal relation with him/her.

如果你老板的rp人所共知，那你就不用担心了。实话实说。
人际关系是要逐步建立的，你突然让chair写信，别说人家不愿写，即使写了，也是很
sketchy, 起不了好的作用。
推荐信如果不是superstrong的，还不如不写呢。just my 2 cents.

My idea is like this:
actually I am not asking department chair to write recommendation letter now.
I just hope I can add him as one of three in reference list.
Nobody knows my experience in this university, as writen in my CV, is true
or fake.
So at least Dept Chair can prove I am not fake.---this is what I want.
About research and "RENPING", I can have PhD supervisor for recommendation,
and also future boss can learn me by interview...
