Sorry for the English input. I am confused about the H1-B transfer process,
so I am seeking your help.
I am currently on non-cap H1-B visa, and my current contract ends 5/31. I
have a new job offer which will start at the end of August. I will request
H1-B transfer (from non-cap to non-cap) before 5/31. I wonder what my status
will be from May to August? Do I have legal status even though at this time
period I will not have any paycheck? Am I required to leave US before I
start the new job?
Please give me some suggestions. I appreciate your help! |

employment?

to leave US to apply for a new H-1B visa.

If I can persuade my current employer not to revoke my H1-B status until
August, does that mean the gap will disappear? or I have to have pay checks
to avoid the gap?
I have a small kid and the possibility of leaving and reentering is a lot of
hassle.
