L***e 发帖数: 42 | 1 after an accident power failure
disk can not pass booting up, ask for fsck
but I can use CTRL+d to continue normal boot procedure.
After that, no user can login from console except root.
by telneting from other machine,
I find that user home directory is missing and this prevent user from login.
it used to be: /home/users
now ls /home see nothing.
What can I do to bring the disk back? multiple run of fsck when booting?
This is a emergency call, ...thanks in advance. | m*****e 发帖数: 4193 | 2
it asks for fsck, so you do fsck.

| L***e 发帖数: 42 | 3 I figured it out that because of a line in my /etc/vfstab file
has an extra option at the end "rq", it blocked my fsck from working.
after removing it, system comes up ok.
But I remember this optin was added for quota control.
Now when I check quota with "repquota filesystem", al the quota
are not there. the existing files doesn't count for their (users" quota.
but newly added files do.
Any idea?
BTW, I can not add the "rq" back, otherwise the system cannot come up right.
Any suggestion?

don't know. probably your vfstab is wrong. make sure all tabs are tabs, not
spaces.

| L***e 发帖数: 42 | 5 Hi, I can not use "edquota username" anymore.
It always open file as "readonly".
When try to save the quota file, it says: "/tmp/Em****" can not be write.
*** stands for some characters.
But I check the directory /tmp and it's contents, it's writable.
Any idea?
