根据Chinese Canadian National Council (CCNC) 多伦多分会发布的调查报告，从
2020年3月到今年2月COVID-19病毒肺炎疫情泛滥的时间里，加拿大全国有超过1千起亚
裔受到语言谩骂和暴力袭击的事件。按照人口平均，加拿大出现的针对亚裔的种族歧视
事件比美国还要多。
华人聚集的加拿大太平洋沿岸城市温哥华警方的统计数字显示，针对亚裔的仇恨犯罪案
件从2019年的12起猛增到2020年的98起，增加幅度超过700%。
在回答记者关于联邦政府采取了什么措施解决针对亚裔的种族歧视问题时，自由党联邦
政府文化事务部通过电子邮件表示，联邦政府在2020年3月份设立了反对种族主义秘书
处，经常与亚洲移民社团讨论采取什么样的措施才能有效对付针对亚裔的种族歧视问题
；自2019年以来已经在85个反歧视项目上拨款1500万加元，其中包括反对歧视黑人、反
对歧视亚裔、反对歧视土著人、反对歧视犹太人、反对歧视信仰伊斯兰教的人士等项目

it at the spot, everyone will blame him/her for low quality. However, when
the leader does it, most will follow.

Don't be too literal. I admit "most" is not an exact term, "many" might be
better. Please excuse me for my fifth-grade English. What can you expect?

But you cannot deny the influence of this leader, look at the crazy
rallies without mask or social distancing during a pandemic, look at the
ones insisting on mask-free even today, look at the ones who still believe
he has Won by a lot, look at the number of Proud China Virus on this board.

beyond the US. I did not, and neither did LZ. In fact, since you brought
it up, just want to say that you might be surprised by how much influence
trump had in Canada. This was the impression one of my cousins living in
Vancouver gave me at that time. I don't know how representative it is. So
I am not making any statement about that. GreatCanada on this board might
be able to give us more detail on this topic.
