elect Joe Biden won the presidential election, breaking with President Trump
and other Republicans who still haven't conceded the election.
During a speech on Tuesday morning, the Kentucky Republican said the “
Electoral College has spoken,” according to reporters on Capitol Hill. "Our
country has officially a president-elect and a vice president-elect,” he
said.
McConnell is the most prominent Republican leader to acknowledge Biden’s
win. His remarks come after the 538 members of the Electoral College cast
their ballots on Monday, confirming Biden’s victory. |
