Dear SFFA Member,
Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) has some important news to share with
you regarding our federal lawsuit—Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard.
After nearly four years of litigation, SFFA will file a “motion for summary
judgment” with the court on June 15th. This motion will assert that the
evidence against Harvard is so overwhelming that the court should rule that
Harvard’s admissions policies violate federal law.
In addition, the court has scheduled a trial in Boston beginning Oct 15th.
While it is unclear right now exactly how long the trial will last, we are
preparing for a four-week trial. In anticipation of this trial, SFFA has
retained an additional law firm that specializes in courtroom trials to
assist our current attorneys. The new firm is Bartlit Beck and they are
based in Chicago.
For all of you who have donated to SFFA in the past, we greatly appreciate
your generosity. Your support helps us to continue this important lawsuit.
It is our hope that this lawsuit, along with our other lawsuits against the
University of North Carolina and the University of Texas, will finally end
racial classifications and preferences in college admissions.
