据我观察,wsj的读者现在大部分已经认可Trump了,比一年前改观太多。
“In general, I'm not a fan of Trump's personality or style but, neither do
I reject it totally. One thing I do know for sure, despite all of Trump's
flaws, he's a better choice than any other alternative I seen to date. For
the record, my voter I'm registration is NPA (No Party Affiliation).”
“Gosh. No matter how much Trump wins, failed pols like Jindal still deliver
their lectures on how the old GOP must rise again.
Jindal, you clearly don't get it. Conservative America chose Trump over the
bloviating rhetoric of the GOP also-rans like yourself. Had Trump not run,
Hillary would now be president.”
“I can only tell you this, Governor Jindal: I've voted Republican for every
single office since 1980 except twice. Once was for a popular neighbor who
ran as a Democrat alderman back in Chicago, and the other was for Barack
Obama in 2012. I voted in Michigan that year. Like the majority in PA, OH,
IN, MI, WI, and IA I voted Obama in 2012 and Trump in 2016.
I knew Obama was a shoo-in when I asked a middle-aged White machinist in
Indiana who he was going to vote for. "They're both crooks," he said.
People in the 70-electoral-vote swing states in the Midwest do not like the
Republican Establishment or the Democrat Establishment. When both are
equally bad, as in 2012, they will vote Democrat. You cannot elect
Republican presidents without winning at least five of those states. If you
put up the same old Republican Establishment mediocrities like Jeb!, Rubio,
Romney, McCain, and yourself, then you will lead the Republican Party out
the White House door and into a long, dark night.” |
