There had been reports that Trump would be visiting the Smithsonian Museum
of African American History and Culture to observe Martin Luther King Day,
but scheduling conflicts apparently derailed the plan.
"Today we observe the birthday of #MartinLutherKing - @realDonaldTrump will
meet with Martin Luther King III to discuss his legacy #MLKDAY," Sean Spicer
tweeted on Monday morning.
The president elect followed Spicer's tweet with one of his own honoring the
civil rights icon: "Celebrate Martin Luther King Day and all of the many
wonderful things that he stood for. Honor him for being the great man that
