HLN censored a pro-Donald Trump T-shirt of a supporter who saved a baby from
a hot car.
Trump supporter Steve Eckel, a retired New Jersey police officer, learned of
a 4-month-old baby locked in a car alone in a Kohl's parking lot, according
to the New York Daily News.
Eckel called 911 and proceeded to use a sledgehammer to break a window and
rescue the baby.
HLN — a cable news channel owned by Turner Broadcasting, a division of Time
Warner — spoke to Eckel on the air. He wore a shirt supporting the GOP
presidential nominee during that live interview.
But in a replay of the interview an hour later, HLN blurred the shirt.
"We blurred the logo and shouldn’t have; it was done in error,” an HLN
spokesperson tells The Hill.
Earlier this week, sister network CNN altered content pertaining to Trump by
omitting a word from one of his tweets.
On Aug. 29, Trump called on his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, to
release her full medical records in a tweet. But when CNN reported the tweet
on “CNN Newsroom” with Jim Sciutto, a graphic of the message Trump's use
of “Crooked” proceeding "Hillary," his preferred nickname for his opponent.
A CNN spokesperson told The Hill that “the tweet should have been shown in
its entirety."
