The St. Louis Business Journal reports that gun stores have been busy in the
area as residents react to the violent events unfolding in Ferguson,
Missouri.
Metro Shooting owner Steve King tells the Business Journal, he has been “
unbelievably busy” at his Bridgeton gun store. Claiming business has spiked
50 percent in recent days.
“We’ve sold a variety of handguns, shotguns and AR-15s,” King said. “All
of the sales are having to do with home defense.”
“Usually it’s pretty slow through the summer, but this has been a huge
spike for business,” King said. “People are hunkering down because those
events are taking place too close to their own home ... in some cases, a
half a mile away.”
King isn’t alone in his claims, the owner of Mid America Arms in St. Louis
also estimated his sales are up 50 percent when compared to a typical day in
