。有些小孩确实是是非观还很混淆，要求学校采取行动以帮助纠正这些错误的是非观。
在与学校的交流中，应该从大的种族范围来抗议，不仅仅说，这是针对中国人的
offense，而要强调：Offense against one race is offense against ALL races!
首先，A kid does not just randomly rush out words like "killing" out of
nowhere. It implies certain inappropriate and negative impact from his
surroundings and environments.
Jimmy 不但不立即严肃阻止，反而comment" an interesting idea", 并继而suggest
“Should we allow the Chinese to live?" This is totally outrageous!
在与学校的交流中，首先要强调：（1） Jimmy 的言行 promote racism. 强调Jimmy

(a) 麻省（Massachuset High School)上周(周三或者周四的事情，Oct23／24）刚发生
一起14岁中学生用小刀（box-cutter), 在洗手间杀了一位受人爱戴的Math老师，把老
师尸体用recycle bin 拖进小树林(woods)中，然后若无其事的去看电影和吃 Wendy's.
（具体原因不详，但该老师要课后找该学生谈话）。This reflect a really
worrisome fact that some of today's kids are taking "killing" as a viable
option to resolve issues.

offense 其实是个蛮轻的词，常常指 random 的， 无意的，情节不重的;
insult 份量就重了，常常指 intentional 的，deliberate 的。

呵呵，你有孩子吗？你对美国学校（从小学、初中、到高中）熟悉吗？
这不是政治， 这是 to teach children become moral people, 这是 to promote pro
-social thoughts, values, and behaviors and to have students act as good
citizens，这是 to teach kids against violence and killing,

不知道你在哪个州，哪个城市。在我们这儿，附近的三个学区，每个学区从小学、初中
、到高中都对bullying and violence and discrimination 忒别重视。
Here elementary schooler knows it is terribly wrong to bully people, (
including internet/web bullying and online libel), let alone any violent
speech and hate speech. And two offenses will immediate lead to a possible
suspension from school.
Here every middle schooler knows (from their Civil Law class) that Freedom
of Speech does not permit hate speech and ethnic harassment. Any such speech

gesture or conduct, writing, or display is strictly forbidden because
it may incite violence or prejudicial action against or by an individual or
group, and because it may disparage or intimidate an individual or a group.

做了4页 Kimmel事件的宣传和游行传单，以助大家一臂之力。
请提建议 。
用彩打效果最好。试了下黑白打印，效果也还成。复印可能会差点，因为有图片。
可以打出来后，分发给同事（或简单的塞在 单位的 mail box 里）。

First of all, we continuously, all year long, talk about how to be safe at
our school.
I begin the year with assemblies and principal chats and review our Cody
Code of Conduct,
and Kelso choices on how to resolve conflicts with peers.
We have a counselor , Susie , that pushes into classrooms every Friday, and
trains
students on how to resolve problems, understand their emotions and self-
regulate.
In addition, we have monthly focus and discussion about inclusiveness and
how to treat
people.
I think our school does a very good job teaching respect of other races/
cultures and how
to resolve conflicts peacefully.
Although I am not familiar with the reference of Jimmy Kimmel and I do not
watch his show,
it is important that we monitor what are students are watching and I suggest
that at home,
which I am sure you already do, continue to monitor your child's television
viewing.
