o8 keeps Bush tax rate for income <250k family but raise tax rate for the
rest, he didn't cut tax for anyone. but now his campaign (yes, he's always
in campaign mode) says it is "middle class tax cut".
NTW I am oppose Bush tax cut. It made so many more people who don't pay a

morgage interest, property TAX.
As long as we don't increase wealfare if somebody is short on money when
they retire.
401K always amazes me, I mean, what the fuck, it basically says the
government don't trust people, they have to incentivise you to save. I don't
need the incentive, I know how to handle my life.
Eliminate the property tax/ morgage interest deduction will be even better!
The housing will be cheaper, and people will live within their means. Now, a
lot of "STUPID" people got this "STUPID IDEA" that "I have to buy a house,
because I want the tax write off!", this mentality sent the housing bubble
to its extreme, and eventually burst.

of cash to pay down?
Dem are always try to protect mortgage interest deduction for middle class,
while all the Repub are talking about cap them at $17000, $25000, $50000...
They want to shift all the burdens to middle class while further reduce rich
liability and also restoring the huge military spending.
I think Obama is on the right track. Talking with Repub is a waste of time.
It is better to talk to American people and let them speak as well.

And I live in a very expensive area. One of the top expensive area in the
country.
It's not about the saving money from tax deduction. The morgage interest /
property tax deduction inflated the house so much, that people actually can'
t afford it any more.
It's about attitude to life. I am a conservsative person, so I support any
conservative measure. TAX deduction on irressponsible spending is encourage
people to make bad decisions. YES, buying a house they can only afford by
government subsidization is irresponsible spending!
Eliminate these deductions is actually good for middle class. The house will
be more affordable. Rich people tend to leverage this more. Come on, how
much is your morgage interest per year? And what is your tax bracket?
Some people have a loan of $900K, and I don't want to call these people
middle class any more. (Even they ARE actually middle class, then taking a $
900K morgage is irresponsible spending for a middle class!)
The measure encourage people to buy as big a house as possible, a lot of
waste in number of bedrooms, and a lot of people can barely afford it.

around $40K. As for high housing price, at least in California, I think it
is partially due to California Proposition 13, which caps property tax
increases. So a lot of people hold on to their property purchased many years
agao and create supply shortage. Also there are a lot of people own
multiple houses and rent them out.
BTW, removing mortagage interest deduction likely will only make shortage
worse. As the rental property owner can deduct interest from rental income
anyway as business expenses. It really hurt people when actually lives in
their house.
