While the national unemployment rate stuck at 9.5 percent this summer, the
youth unemployment rate hit 19.1 percent in July.
It was the highest midsummer jobless rate for the 16-to-24 age group on
records dating back to 1948, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said Friday.
