The study showed that the most "Christian' parts of the United States, the
South and Midwest, have the highest rates of social ills and crime including
murder, sexually transmitted diseases, mortality and so forth. The study
also showed that the United States as a whole has far higher rates of crime
and social ills than the rest of the developed world including all of Europe
. The US is much more "Christian" than civilized nations.
There is no escaping the reality that Christian dogma goes hand-in-glove
with a sick society. Religious fanatics and extremist are worse social
dangers than drugs.
Most rational persons recognize that Christian mythology is farcicaly
pathetic and that the Christians, especially the "evangelicals" or
fundamentalists, are hypocrites who use religion as a weapon to demean
others. Doctor Paul's study is one of the first to quantify the real social
effects of Christian doctrine. It may be that religious zealots of all cults
, not just Christian, produce a similar effect of social evil. Certainly the
Catholic church spent centuries oppressing its subjects into poverty and
misery. The Moslem dogma has the same appeal: violence, revenge, exclusion
and oppression. One is constrained to wonder why sane persons would invent
such mythologies. Religion should not go hand-in-hand with cruelty the way
it does in America.

Serial Killers:
The FBI gave the standard profile of a serial killer, He is a person with
few friends. He became much more religious just before he started murdering
people. After reading all the available studies I could find and studying
all the articles in the newspapers for over 30 years, I find what is most
outstanding is Serial killers were sexually inhibited by their strong
religious upbringing.
Nearly all serial killers are very devout men who were raised by members of
Pentecostal sects, fundamentalist Catholics or were 'hard-shell' Baptists
and Methodists."
Studies after study show serial killers are a product of this environment,
not genetics.
You can find much information on serial killers being sexually inhibited and
there views on sex and religion at http://www.crimelibrary.com/serials/what/whatlust.htm | l******t 发帖数: 12659 | 4 烦请给个那篇刊登在"scholarly online journal“的链接吧

The Federal Bureau of Prisons does have statistics on religious affiliations
of inmates. The following are total number of inmates per religion category
:[8]
Catholic 29267 39.164%
Protestant 26162 35.008%
Muslim 5435 7.273%
American Indian 2408 3.222%
Nation 1734 2.320%
Rasta 1485 1.987%
Jewish 1325 1.773%
Church of Christ 1303 1.744%
Pentecostal 1093 1.463%
Moorish 1066 1.426%
Buddhist 882 1.180%
Jehovah Witness 665 0.890%
Adventist 621 0.831%
Orthodox 375 0.502%
Mormon 298 0.399%
Scientology 190 0.254%
Atheist 156 0.209%
Note that the atheist population in the United States is about 11%. Thus the
atheist prison population is about 1/52 of what one might expect if morals
were evenly distributed, alas that is NOT the case. Yes folks, those WITH AN
ALLEGED MORAL COMPASS are OVER 52 TIMES as likely to be IN PRISON.
Belief is a good thing and prevents people from certain behaviors. Case
closed.
I await the normal handwringing...
