because of the delay of the domestic flight in China (China Southern). We
are told that there will be $275/person to wait for the next available
flight (today or even after, no exact date). My question is:
1. How to incarease the possibility of being assigned seats?
2. Is there any way to avoid those charges?

好好和UA的工作人员说,希望能免费地STANDBY。用他们发的BOARDING MANAGEMENT
CARD进到GATE去,在那里STANDBY,才有机会上。行李先走掉。
如果光在外面等CONFIRMED的位子那就不知道多久了。 |

s******x 发帖数: 15232 | 4 只是用来证明不是旅客自己稀里糊涂误了UA的飞机,而是有不可抗拒的其他因素。
当然如果原来南航的时间和UA的衔接得就很紧,那就是楼主自己的错了。

d*****e 发帖数: 157 | 5 Tried to look up seatcounter.com for you and it does not look good for your chance of having space in the next couple days, even if you were flying via NRT or SFO. Didn't get a chance to check more days & I don't have a subscription. Hope someone else here might have other insights to help you. There are seats available in business class, so I wonder if you can use UA mileage to upgrade your seats.
You might want call UA to follow-up on when they might have openings for you - ask to reroute i

Hope OP can grab it -- I also find it hard to argue wavier of the additional
cost but it does not hurt to try.

所以楼主去南航要个延误证明或许管用
