It is a tourney hand against genius28- an online superstar who used to
play the biggest game on ps/ftp, but like to challenge the best like PI/
durrrr/phild G etc and had bad BR management. he won a bracelet last year
though.
Anyway, in this hand genius28 raised in LP with KQ, David Qiu called
from SB.
Flop came 456, David Qiu checked, Genius28 made a half pot c bet and David
called. Turn was a K, both players checked, River is a Q, David checked,
genius28 made a value bet on the river with top 2, David Qiu clearly sensed
that it is a value bet and genius28 is not very strong, so checked/raised
on the river. Genius28 thought quite a while and folded since his top 2
is a only a bluff catcher.
David was nice enough to show his AJo and said I only do this just
because you are a good player. :)
A thinking/observent player like Qiu can sense the weakness of these
thin value bet and make the river bluff against the right person. Of course,
we do not want to do this against fish who play their own hand.

His top-2 was way under-represented. It was not a thin value bet at all
given that he checked behind at the turn -- I would call AQ a thin value bet
here, but betting top2 for only 2 streets is by no means a thin value bet,
unless he believed that David never check raise with AK or other two pairs
here.
My guess is that David put him on a weak pair so he tried to bluff him out,
and that surprisingly folded a top2. | p****r

因为turn的这个check，说明了在turn的牌力是capped的，river Q的话，改变不大
这里做river check/raise很profit！

triumph over Gus Hanson was so legendary.
But in this hand, I guess David did not expect genius28 to be this strong
with top 2.

mostly cooked for TV shows or movies. Otherwise it is generally -EV in
practice.

From genius28 point of view, think about David's river value check/raise
range.
David would not check/raise with any one pair hand on the river. He would
prolly play 2 pairs hand faster on the flop. The check/calling range from
David can rep a lot of strong range. David can cleary rep a set or flopped
straight(most likely) when check/raising on the river.
From Qiu's side, the turn check from genius could be a clearly a pot
control move for one pair hand w/ showdown equalty. The river bet is a
clearly value bet with pair hand. Genius would not likely check set kings
on the turn.
