Like to try new games, such as PLO. Anyone has similar intention.
I saw the biggies (DURRRR, Phil Ivey etc) playing 7-game ring games. Find else only know NLH. Aha, there is so much else to learn. Learning is fun.
Any recommendation on book on PLO? I order Harrington V-2/3 recently. I am
lagging in self-learning. It took over 1 month to finish Harrrington V-1. | f*****g

it's the most popular PLO book, just like harrington in holdem.
but personally i'd not try PLO until i have a solid bankroll from holdem, a
few reasons:
1) PLO is getting popular but still far behind holdem, which most fish play;
2) PLO is a game where the edge is much much bigger between good and average
players, and the luck factor decreases. most average players got tired of
holdem after a while, and donate money in PLO;
3) i'd rather focus and be

that is what interests me mostly. If can sharpen through experience, that
means possiblity to build up a bandroll with less variance.
Players are dealed with 4 cards(PLO), which 6X combinations of 2 cards(NLH).
The possibility to hit winning card is at least 6X higher. Once I
accidentally walked in to a PLO micro tourney months ago. Hahah, it is
interesting to try something new.

much to pay the lession if start with micro(such as 3/5$ for a tourney, you
can play 100s hands).
And one edge you have is your odds calculator and reads, which you have

danny ashman, who's a top NLHM player (who plays with durrrr, ivey alike),
got beat up big when he started PLO in $2/4, and everyone was hunting for
him.
two typical big mistakes:
1) ppl play PLO with holdem mindset, it's hard to switch for most of ppl;
2) ppl don't realize PLO is actually a higher stake game, for example, you
should go down at least one level. ashman learned his lessons the hard way.

colleagues with hi-lo omaha as one of 10 mixed game we play. It is fixed
game, but it helps.
I sometimes goes into 1-2c PLO omaha games to bust donkeys to get a kick out
of it.... It is fun but minimum $$ made through the process... i know i will get my ass handed to me if i go any higher than the 1-2c game. | f*****g

that does mean it is duanting to us. We can learn also.

at micro level for learning something new when I'm tired with NLHE. I maybe a
dog in these games but that's o.k. small money won't hurt my roll, I just
treat them as a hobby like tennis/golf which I have to pay some money to
play. Badbeat won't be so bad when I play for fun and badbeat others is

发帖数: 7793 | 12 everything is hi-lo, omaha, 7 card stud, 6 card stud, 5 card draws others
are not standard and self invented. omaha and stud can be 8 or better for
low or any low.. Now come to think of it.. there are actually more than 10
games. Holdem is not one of them. Also, for hi-lo, you have to declare it in the end and one more betting round. If you go both way, and lose one you lose the whole pot. this is different from standard hi-lo game and it adds a bit more variation. just listen to the name of

80k hands, mostly PLO25, some PLO10 and some PLO50, most of them RUSH, with
a winrate >5bb/100. first 40k hands I maintained >10bb/100, while the last
40khands break even.
largest downswing was like 10BI in 1k hand, or 20Bi in 5k hand. it's very
common (once or twice in a week) to run 3-5 BI below EV.
PLO is a high winrate high variance, high rake game. PLO25 is essentially

clearly written by a mathematicien.
