my guess would be since you're playing quite differert stakes (50NL to 400NL
) and games (full ring to HU), you don't really have enough confidence all
the time to do what you think is the best.
for example, one play that you're perfectly fine with (and properly
bankrolled with) in 0.25/0.5 games may be a very marginal situation for you
in 2/4. or you could comfortably play "creatively" in 0.25/0.5 for certain
hands, yet you play a much stronger hand "timidly" in 2/4, because losing

0.5 today, maybe $2/4 tomorrow, $1/2 the next day, and heads-up after that,
just like something suddenly pops up in my mind, and I just follow it. For
self-control, the only thing I can say is I don't have self-control at all,
I can risk all the money in my bank to gamble...

look at your chips as number of big blinds instead of the actual cash value.
If the actual cash amount in the game changes your game, then you should
learn proper bankroll management. This doesn't mean you should not be
adjusting your game according to your opponents at different blinds level of

Stop impulse gambling. You need a overall plan. What game are you good at?
At what stake are you comfortable with? I used to play as high as 20/40
mixed game. I may gain 1k in one night and lost 2k the next day which is a
lot of money to me. There is no plan, pure gambling. Of course I am a big
fish in the big game so life get frustrated. Now I dropped all the way to 0.
5/1 or occasionally to 1/2, but not higher. That's the rule.

1. This is HU and your mindset is your opponent could be bluffing all the
time. So you tend to call more often.
2. You're out of position in this hand, and check again on the turn. So your
check-raise on the turn looks suspicious/weak. I feel you should check-fold
on the turn because he would likely call your check-raise bluff even with a
weaker hand. Because your bluff is likely to be called, it's better not
bluff.

river看情况而定， 基本上比较tight的player不是nuts不会all in的。
Last night I was playing 1/2 NL 6 max, UTG bet $7, I called with 77. flop
K82, no flush draw, I bet $10, UTG called; turn 7, I checked, UTG checked;
river 3,no flush, no str8t, I thought for a while and shoved; UTG called and
showed KK. I lost $70+.
事后总结， 还是太贪了。

table, 3-4 hours per session.
So, suck out other ppl sometimes and of course, they will bad beats me.
When you play such volume, the variance is little. I am ok with 5BB/100
hands. I usually play 6max. even, 6 table, my vpip still 30%, pfr 20%.

I think what you said is exactly what happened. I just can't be creative in
$2/4. I used to be creative in $2/4 when I won a lot in this stake, I had
confidence, I had bankroll, but now it is totally different. I can feel I
play really bad sometimes but can't adjust. I think choose the right stake
level is critical.
