me UTG+1 $15, UTG $40
i just got on the table, so no observation of UTG's style.
hole card KcKd
UTG raised to $1, I raised to $3. All other folded. UTG reraised to $6, I
called.
Q1:Should I all-in now?
Flop:
3c4h10d
UTG raised $10 which is all-in for me.
Q2: Should I all-in or fold? | m******1 发帖数: 715 | | f*****g 发帖数: 15860 | 3 you're playing short stack strategy (60BB), so this is auto all-in pre-flop.
in harrington's cash game books, he specifically mentioned this in vol I. he
said (not exact words): "don't feel lucky/good/heroic when you lay down KK
in this situation, and then see your opponent show AA" ... " because in the
long term, you'll fold a lot of times to QQ, AK, AQ, JJ alike too and it
will cost you more money...". he also said, the chance that you have KK and
somebody has AA at the same time is about 1%.

| f*****g 发帖数: 15860 | 5 really good books, i used to think his tournament books are too conservative
. but his cash game books are very different.
i would leave a note for this player. i only play at tables where at least 2
-3 players are marked by me as this, lol.
even he turned or rivered you with an A, don't feel bad about it. poker is
all about probabilities, if you make the right decisions at favorable times,
you'll be a winner. you play with a system (which can win 7/10 times), not
just hands (you still lose one

| w***w 发帖数: 6301 | 8 I don't think harrington is correct at this situation. And I don't think QQ
, AK, AQ, JJ would 3-bet preflop, I mean there may be some players doing that
but most players don't do that.
I do think the opponent could have AA, but since the pot is too big compared
with allin amount, this is a call anyway.
flop.

| c**********l 发帖数: 606 | 10 yeah, all-in in both cases.
harrington's cash game books are the best, very clear, great examples.
Sklansky and miller's book (Theory and Practice) is great and deeper than
harrington's, as well as David's classic Poker theory for advanced players.
basically all the theories are covered in David's books, while harrington
explains things in a much more digestable way.
i would say harrington for debutants/journeymans, and Sklansky when you have
100k+ hands and at least a winrate of 2ptBB/100 at N | f*****g 发帖数: 15860 | 11 i like ed miller's aricles too, a lot of wisdom.
