1. To be a tennis professional, minimum level is 4.0. So 4.5 is about
professional.
2. Boys 18 sectional final players are ranked high at 5.5, higher than med
level college players, which is only 4.5.
3. To be 4.0-4.5, you need to beat former college players who are 36 and
older. This is a tough one and I think not many 4.0-4.5 players can claim

I think those guidelines are just for the general screening bah, not for
specail case.
I think even beginner can be progessional, just in that case, you will quit
in one month. For those open tournament, lot of 4.0 player are in there
and have fun. If you play enough, with a good score, you will have ranking
points.
Reasonalable leh. Cause most of those guys go to tier 1 school, or turn pro.
For those tier 2/3 college players at 36, it is ok to play with. I k | w***m

a couple of games? NO WAY.
Aces, service winners, and return winner will be the main three type of
shots. :)

Just my thought that it is tough to keep playing at the highest level all
the time. US Open semi Shawa vs Mauresmo. 6:0, then 4:6 (?), then 6:0 again.
I think that Shawa let down a little and wow, lost a set. Same thing
happpened to Federer in the final, first game second set. And they are the
best players. For 4.5, can he/she keeps playing at their best level for two
sets and not let down a little against a weak player? | a**s

I won most of my singles in 3.5 league. When I played with a strong
4.5 (play #1 single in 4.5), I can barely get a game from him.
I did get a lot of points, but not games :(
When I played with a strong 4.0, I can get 4-6 games in two sets.
Of course it depends your style and your opp. style. But generally
hard to get a game from a 4.5 if you are a 3.5
again.

since deltafox self-rated 3.5, and c&c is at 4.5, i would bet 200 mitbbs $,
that cc cant beat deltafox with double beagle.
there are alot of players play high rating league with low rating. but the
problem is that it is hard for you to find team who accomodat you and
knowing you would lost every match. well, if you can, by all means, play at
higher rating league, that would benefit you in the long run.

a lot if you are 3.5. Drills can if he is willing to do so. That
is my point, not about rating.
By the way, when I talk about rating, I would always say average
rating. I easyly beat a lot of so called 4.0 who is playing in 4.0.
But that means nothing. And I would only compare rating inside a
small region, not cross US :)

I gain some confidence when i was playing against 5.0 in double. sure, you would
find the game is very challenge, but it would keep you at the edge and you
are very focus during the match. kinda like "being there, done that", and
you wont feel panic when you are facing other strong players.
as we all know that most players got some special talnet in different
aspects, in terms of strong forehand, strong volley, or strong

Bagals, win/loss are just percentage. Frankly speaking, double bagals are
more about how long you can focus. If two sets, that will be ok, if more,
that request more energy.
Next spring, we will know the match result between C&C and Fox. | c*********e

a usta 4.5 yet and have no plan to push myself for that. now my goals in
tennis are:
1. make my wife a good player. 2. work on fitness, i really feel i am
slowing down so much because of beers and wines. 3. play good matches and
hope my usta mixed doulbe teams enter sectional and national again next year
. 4.make more friends in tennis.
