p******n 发帖数: 6 | 1 I just got a curious question on margin.
Say in my account I origianlly have $2000 in stock A bought with my own cash
. Then I used margin to buy $500 of stock B. Later, if I sell some stock A
worth $800, now does it mean the $500 stock B is no longer considered as "
being bought on margin"? Or is stock B still considered bought on margin?
And one has to deposit cash to meet the margin call if stock B's price drops
? | a*******9 发帖数: 2265 | | p******n 发帖数: 6 | 3 That is what I would like to confirm, i.e., if I sold A for more cash value
than I borrowed on margin to purchase B, then B is no longer considered
bought "on margin" and I will not incur interest and there will never be a
margin call. Is that understanding correct? Thanks. | a*******9 发帖数: 2265 | |
