I hope that the JSM keeps acting as a great freedom forum in Statistics. In my opinion, I would prefer to publish my ideas with my paper just via the proceedings of the JSM rather than a formal journal, since a journal usually takes a censoring by the editors as well as the peer reviewers and this may kill any new idea in Statistics since no one can guarantee that he/she understand the new idea. Once the new ideas were killed, no new method could be born. | t****r 发帖数: 702 | 2 Are you willing to accept criticism from the peer reviewers or editors?
Yes, I agree that many times there are ridiculus criticisms from the reviewe
rs or editiors. But that doesnt mean you are absultely correct. There are al
ways articles chanllenging existing methods, but since you are chanllenging
some well/widely accepted method, that requires that you need to do a better
job explaning or formulating your idea.
I have received tons of critisms from the reviewers and I was very upset at
the moment. But in the end, that forced me to do much more work in presentin
g and explanining my ideas. Try to resolve all concerns arised from reviewer
s. Eventually, I found something that's much better than the originally idea
. Personally, I think that is the only way to maintain the qualility of a jo
urnal. Afterall, it's your job to convince people.
If you cannot convince people, has it ever occured to you that it may be you
r problem? Instead of blaming others for not understanding you, have you tri
ed to understand their concerns and try to make adjustments or make further
investigations on why they don't agree with you? Don't act like that you ar
e the only one who get the truth and all others are too ignorant to understa
nd that.

to me at each time when I submited my paper to a journal. What I received
is just "rejection". Why? have you ever had such an experience?
